- Jacqueline’s Status, She’s Rumored To Not Be Done With TNA! -
Posted on Thursday, May 7th, 2009
by Arron Carlton

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Jacqueline will be making a return to TNA television.

– We have not seen the last of Jacqueline in TNA as company officials plan on bringing her back as a women’s wrestler in the near future.

TNA has changed course by putting talent not being used on television on restructured deals — like Jacqueline — as opposed to releasing them. The restructured deals give the wrestlers not being used more control to book themselves as they see fit (on indy shows) as opposed to management booking them and taking a percentage of the payoff.

- Two Knockouts Matches announced for TNA Lockdown: Knockouts Missing in Action, Roxxi, Rhaka Khan… -

—It’s official, as most predicted, it will be a Triple Threat match for the TNA Women’s Championship, we will also have the return of the Queen Of The Cage match for the #1 contender-ship…

TNA KNOCKOUTS WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP
Taylor Wilde vs. Angelina Love vs. (c) Awesome Kong

QUEEN OF THE CAGE MATCH
ODB vs. Madison Rayne vs. Daffney vs. Sojo Bolt

While the title match makes sense, the queen of the cage match is not what it was intended to be last year, with any Knockout having a fair shot to become #1 contender. Where is Roxxi? who won the title of Queen of the Cage last year… and Rhaka?—This without a doubt solidifies that Roxxi and Rhaka Khan were pulled off of television because of a backstage fight. Why isn’t Raisha Saeed or Velvet in the match? And let’s not get started on how much Jacqueline Moore and Traci Brooks should be in the match. Which would make it 10 women.

- Jacqueline and Roxxi Pulled From TNA Television? …WTF? -

Roxxi TNA

TNA has had some absurd bookings and company decisions over the last couple of months, however recent rumors since Sunday, on the status of Jacqueline Moore, and now Roxxi. If the rumors does indeed turn out to be true, it is simple down right self-destructive on the companies part—they will continue to burry the once highly revered Knockouts Division. In 2008, TNA proved their stupidity when they could not hold on to arguably the most athletic and recognizable face of the Knockouts, Gail Kim. Their stupidity has not only been with the knockouts, but with the entire roster, how else to you explain outstanding wrestlers such as Sanjay Dutt and Petey Williams being released, who should have undoubtibly been the future of the company.

Here’s some Notes from The PWI Female 50 Rankings, published on Rajah.com…

– According to the magazine, April Hunter recently un-retired after announcing her retirement from in-ring competition at the start of the year. PWI factors in body of work (see Malia Hosaka, Lexie Fyfe), hence Hunter’s relatively high ranking.

Jacqueline is the only wrestler in history to be listed in both the PWI 500 as well as the PWI Female 50.

– Over a quarter of the rankings are composed of women’s wrestlers from Canada. Gail Kim is the highest ranked at No. 3, and Portia Perez rounds out the list at No. 50. Other Canadians in the Top 50 include Taylor Wilde, Natalya (Neidhart), Allison Danger, Traci Brooks, Sarah Stock, Kelly Couture, Jaime D (Sirelda), Milena Roucka (WWE developmental wrestler), LuFisto, Danyah, and Jennifer Blake.

– Of the the 50 women listed, 22 have wrestled for the SHIMMER promotion. Those names include Awesome Kong, Beth Phoenix, MsChif, Sara Del Ray, Roxxi Laveaux, Mercedes Martinez, Taylor Wilde, Daizee Haze, Natalya (Neidhart), Allison Danger, Sarah Stock, Cheerleader Melissa (a.k.a. Raisha Saeed), Amber O’Neal, Lexie Fyfe, Cindy Rogers, Malia Hosaka, Christie Ricci, Lufisto, Jennifer Blake, Danyah, Daffney, and Portia Perez.

– Notable women left off the list: 6-time Ohio Valley Wrestling Women’s Champion Serena Deeb (and current champion), Josie (has held the OVW women’s belt three times in 2008 and recently wrestled on Impact), Maryse (who’s been wrestling in WWE since the spring and in developmental prior), Brie and Nicole Bella (who were called up to WWE within a year, whereas Milena Roucka is still in developmental after two - and counting), Rain (a.k.a. Ms. Payton Banks), Lacey, Shelly Martinez (who’s wrestled at least as much as Rhaka Khan), and Ashley Lane.

Pro Wrestling Illustrated has released an issue similar to the “PWI 500,” but based on the women of professional wrestling instead. They’re calling it the first annual “PWI Female 50,” which ranks the top 50 women’s wrestlers. PWI feels there is enough credible women’s wrestlers out there now to warrant a top 50 ranking. Michelle McCool, Beth Phoenix, Awesome Kong, with “The Beautiful People” - Angelina Love and Velvet Sky - in the front, grace the magazine cover.

It should be noted that PWI has opted to exclude Mexican and Japanese women’s wrestlers from the rankings - sans Sarah Stock. Regarding this. PWI wrote: “That isn’t intended to be a slight against international competitors. More so than with the male counterparts, women’s wrestling varies tremendously between the North American style, the Japanese joshi puroresu styles and the Mexican lucha libre style. With few notable exceptions (such as Sumie Sakai and Gail Kim), a wrestler who excels in one style may fare much more poorly in a different style. Besides, we wanted to shine the spotlight primarily on the U.S. and Canadians competitors first. If reader response to this special section is strong, perhaps we will consider ranking more women, including international competitors, in the future.”

On how they ranked the wrestlers, PWI wrote: “To determine this list and compile the rankings, we examined a variety of criteria. While placing special emphasis on a wrestler’s accomplishments over the past calender year, we also took note of each women’s career accomplishments as well. For example, a veteran like Malia Hosaka may not have wrestled as many matches or as many high-profile bouts as Cherry over the past 12 months, but based on her accomplishments throughout her 20-plus year career, we felt she deserved inclusion.”

PWI also went over possible controversy in regards to ranking the likes of Maria and Velvet Sky ahead of more “scientifically skilled technicians” such as Lexie Fyfe and Cindy Rogers. Prominence and marketability factored into the rankings as it’s not only based on technical ability and accomplishments. PWI wrote: “We evaluated each woman on championships held, quality of opposition faced, overall athletic ability, prominence, and marketability. To some critics, those last two criteria may be controversial. After all, some may argue that wrestlers like Maria Kanellis and Velvet Sky have no business being ranked ahead of more scientifically skilled technicians like Cindy Rogers and Lexie Fyfe. We would argue that marketability and prominence are an important aspect of pro wrestling, and that the success of these Divas and Knockouts have had on such a major stage has to be taken into consideration.”

- Salinas (Shelly Martinez) quits from TNA Wrestling? Jackie Moore works No Surrender Injured -
Posted on Sunday, September 14th, 2008
by Arron Carlton

As it stands right now, as a rumor, Salinas (Shelly Martinez) is done with TNA. On tonight’s No Surrender Pay Per View, it was said by announcers that Jacqueline Moore attacked Salinas and sent her to the hospital, which was how TNA scripted her not being with LAX during their match against Beer Money Inc.. Jacqueline Moore worked the match injured, after loosing teeth just the night before. She was instrumental in Beer Money picking up the win.

Here’s more details from PWTorch.com…

During tonight’s TNA PPV, they announced that Jackie Moore had attacked Salinas backstage. That was Salinas’ storyline exit as she’s quit the company. The story making the rounds was that she had booked a role in an Italian film that would have put her into conflicts with TNA bookings. I’ve heard she offered to give up the film role if TNA would give her a pay raise and when that didn’t happen, gave her notice. I believe TNA tried to get her to come into the PPV and TV this week to be written out but when that happened, they simply said she was attacked off camera.

Shelly Martinez also posted the following cryptic blog tonight, which can possibly be a confirmation…

Choices
Current mood: amused

Hey everyone! First I want to say to everyone who ordered my photos sorry for the delay. The printing held it up so I will send those off this week and have a little gift for you guys or gals for the trouble!!

Anywho, this blog is about choices. Sometimes in life you find yourself saying “I have no choice” and you follow your heart even if it seems at the time your heart may be breaking when you do follow your heart and commit to it. I made a big decision recently and when it is time to talk about it I promise I will have a follow up blog explaining. I care about all my fans and appreciate your support. On a good note, when you find it’s time to close a door another door (weather you looking or not) opens right up and I’ve peaked inside and decided to open it and walk right in LOL

Starting tomorrow I will be begin to film an Italian inspired thriller. I had rehearsal yesterday and my costar and I have great chemistry together so it will be grand!! YAY!! I am working on having my camera guy shoot some behind the scene for my new site!! Yes, I am disappointed to lose something important to me for this role but at the same time change, scary change, always seems to lead to bigger and better things. I will keep you all posted, until then remember no matter what 5150 LAX por vida!!!!

- Angelina Love shoots on the WWE–New SLAM! Wrestling Interview , Jacqueline Moore’s Teeth Knocked Out again -
Posted on Sunday, September 14th, 2008
by Arron Carlton

—SLAM! Wrestling has a new feature/interview up on Angelina Love. It’s a very good read and one of the more interesting shoots on the WWE, similar to what we heard from Taylor Wilde a few days ago—from the prospective of former WWE developmental talent. What stood out was Angelina commenting on the WWE specifically asking her to change her look…

“When I got signed by the competition, I had my hair all braided and I was told to take them out, it was too different of a look,

I asked, ‘Do they not want something different, or do they want twenty of the same girl?’, and I was told twenty of the same girl. I became Random Blonde 14, and it really didn’t mean much.”

Angelina Love excited to be coming home
By ANDY McNAMARA - SLAM! Wrestling

TORONTO - When TNA invades nearby Oshawa, Ontario this Sunday for the No Surrender pay-per-view, the event will have extra special meaning for TNA Knockout Angelina Love.

Born Lauren Williams, Love will be in her backyard as she grew up in the Toronto area, and actually attended post-secondary school at Durham College, which is located in Oshawa. To make things even more patriotic, she will be facing fellow Canadian, Taylor Wilde, at No Surrender. “For a company like TNA, that’s been growing so rapidly, to be coming here, with so many Canadian wrestlers on its roster, its such a cool thing to be happening,” she said. “A lot of my buddies from Durham College will be there for the show — it can’t get any better than that.”

Love recently sat down with SLAM! Wrestling and explained that she is not only excited about her match, but also the Knockout division as a whole. “TNA took a big chance (bringing) in all the girls that they did. It was a gamble, and I think it’s succeeded beyond anyone’s expectations.”

—House show reports note that Jacqueline got teeth knocked out at the TNA House show in London, Ontario, Canada during the Beer Money, Inc. vs Motor City Machineguns. Here’s confirmation at Rajah.com…

– A number of Jacqueline’s teeth were knocked out at last night’s TNA house show during a collision spot in which James Storm was whipped into her while she was near the apron. No word yet if she’s working tonight’s No Surrender pay-per-view.

—Due to Hurricane Ike, it seems Sharmell Sullivan will not be making it to No Surrender in Canada.

Pro Wrestling Illustrated set to release the first ever Top 50 Female Wrestlers Magazine

Pro Wrestling Illustrated set to release the first ever Top 50 Female Wrestlers Magazine

Each year, Pro Wrestling Illustrated releases the “PWI 500,” the most prestigious rank for a wrestler to be on each year. Now finally, after all these years, with the launch of TNA’s Women’s Division in 2007, and Shimmer strong as ever, we get the PWI Top 50 female wrestlers. Awesome Kong, Beth Phoenix, Michellle McCool, Angelina and Velvet Sky graces the cover, of them, Awesome Kong and Beth should make the Top 5. It will be interesting to see which Indy Workers makes the list.

In the past, we’ve seen numerous female wrestlers break into the PWI 500. TNA’s Jacqueline Moore was the first woman to be ranked on the PWI 500 at #483 in 1993, Luna Vachon ranked #306 in 1995 and Chyna ranked #235 in 1999 and #106 in 2000. All three women are legends in their own right.

The magazine on on Sale on September 23rd.

- Gail Kim’s next Wrestling Appearance, TNA New York Tour–House Show results…Awesome Kong, Jacqueline & more -

Awesome Kong - 09.06.08 - New York, NY

Awesome Kong - 09.06.08 - New York, NY

TNA Wrestling returned to New York State this week with 3 events. The Knockouts were in action but interestedly enough, TNA’s Women’s Champion Taylor Wilde was not featured on the shows although she was advertised to wrestle. Roxxi took her place on the tour, so there were no Women’s Championship matches.

– On September 05th in Westbury, New York (Long Island)…
Awesome Kong defeated Roxxi (with referree Traci Brooks)

Match 3: TNA Knockouts Match: Awesome Kong defeated Roxxy with Traci Brooks as the referee, with an inverted power bomb. After the match, Kong continued the assault. Traci tried to break it up, and received an awesome bomb in return. (Don Murphy)

Jacqueline was also at the show, accompanying Beer Money

– On September 06th in New York, NY (Manhattan)
Awesome Kong defeated Roxxi and Traci Brooks in a 3-Way Match

Match 2: Awesome Kong defeated Roxxi and Traci Brooks in a one-fall, three-way Knockouts bout. Kong went over following an Impant Buster on Roxxi and an Awesome Bomb on Traci onto the prone body of Roxxi, at which point Kong pinned both of her adversaries. This was another short match, but filled with enough awesomeness from Kong to keep it entertaining (Ryan Mulligan)

Jacqueline was also at the show, accompanying Beer Money. Beer Money vs Team 3D was the match of the night as far as entertainment and crowd reaction. Jacqueline was very much involved throughout the match, which brings to life the need to remove the no male on female violence policy from iMPACT!. One of the biggest pops of the night was Jacqueline finding herself in a very compromising pistion between Robert Roode and James Storm (See Below). She also ended up being powerbombed through a table by Team 3D.

– On September 07th in Albany, New York
Awesome Kong & Jacqueline defeated Traci & Roxxi

It was all Awesome Kong this weekend in all her Awesomeness…So that poses a question—Is Awesome Kong Too Awesome? I recently came across a column on bleacherreport.com by Jason Iovanna. I disagree with a lot of it however interesting read anyway…Is Awesome Kong Too Awesome?

In other TNA related news, Gail Kim is scheduled to appear at Booker T’s promotion on September 18th…
