On the verge of crowning Shimmer Tag Team champions, Ashley Lane is focused to win the gold.

On October 19 in Berwyn, IL, SHIMMER will crown its first tag team champions. The winners will be determined in a tag team gauntlet match, as opposed to a tournament which was used to crown the Shimmer Champion in Volume 12. We’ve seen the creation of 2 new Women’s titles in the top 2 federations over the coarse of the year–The WWE Divas Championship and the TNA Women’s Championship. But there’s a definite distinction, and that is instant credibility. Shimmer has pay it forward by redefining what Women’s Wrestling is in American, refuting the standard set by the WWE. Which ever team becomes the Shimmer tag team champions will be immortalized in the recent history of Women’s Wrestling.

Booked for the match is “The International Home Wrecking Crew” of Rain (Payton Banks of TNA Wrestling fame) & Jetta, “The Experience” of Lexie Fyfe & Malia Hosaka, Ashley Lane & Nevaeh, The Australian “Pink Ladies” of Madison Eagles & Jessie McKay and “The Canadian Ninjas” of Portia Perez & Nicole Matthews. Already a stellar set of athletes battling for the gold. One of the favorites going into the match has to be “The Experience” of Lexie Fyfe & Malia Hosaka. Malia Hosaka (LPWA, WCW), wrestling since the 1980’s, and Fyfe, a respected technician in her own right who has wrestled on WCW and WWF television. Both ladies already defeated Cindy Rogers & Lorelei Lee, Ariel & Josie, Serena Deeb & Portia Perez, MsChif & Daffney, Allison Danger & Serena Deeb, Ashley Lane & Nevaeh and Jennifer Blake & Danyah. With a slew of tag team wins, it would be a shock to not see them come out on top and become the first ever Shimmer Tag Team champions.

One woman who is not letting the “The Experience” of Lexie Fyfe & Malia Hosaka intimidate her is Ashley Lane. Her and her partner Nevaeh suffered a loss at the hands of Lexie Fyfe & Malia Hosaka in Shimmer Volume 17. In a Lethalwow.com interview she said “They were all-around more experienced than us. We looked at it as a time to prove to ourselves and everyone else what we’ve got and although we didn’t come out on top, I think we learned a lot from being in the ring with those two and coming out still standing at the end.” Ashley more than ever welcomes the possibility of being in the ring with them again… “I’m looking forward to the rematch.

Ashley Lane & Nevaeh have a few victories under their belt going into the gauntlet match. In Shimmer Volume 18 they defeated Lacey & Rain (TNA’s Payton Banks) and in Simmer Volume 19 they defeated Cat Power & Veronika Vice. Ashley Lane & Nevaeh are not to be underestimated, and they are determined to make an impact. “I have a feeling people are going to see a whole new Nevaeh and Ashley lane this time…we’re coming determined to wear the tag team titles home at the end of the night.”
