On October 19 in Berwyn, IL, SHIMMER will crown its first tag team champions. The winners will be determined in a tag team gauntlet match, as opposed to a tournament which was used to crown the Shimmer Champion in Volume 12. We’ve seen the creation of 2 new Women’s titles in the top 2 federations over the coarse of the year–The WWE Divas Championship and the TNA Women’s Championship. But there’s a definite distinction, and that is instant credibility. Shimmer has pay it forward by redefining what Women’s Wrestling is in American, refuting the standard set by the WWE. Which ever team becomes the Shimmer tag team champions will be immortalized in the recent history of Women’s Wrestling. (more…)
