On the June 21, 2010 edition of Raw, Natalya faced off against Tamina. Also on Raw, was WWE Divas Champion Alicia Fox and Eve involved in mixed tag team action.

WWE Divas – June 21, 2010 Raw Match:
Natalya vs. Tamina

—Before the match, The Hart Dynasty cut a backstage promo, with harsh words to the Season one NXT wrestlers—Right away, it was clear that the NXT wrestlers would get involved in the match. Despite mixing it up in 6-man tag team action at WWE Fatal 4-Way, Natalya vs. Tamina seemed too soon, so it was evident that this was going to end in a No Contest.

The Hart Dynasty made their way to the ring first, followed by Tamina and The Usos. Tamina went right after Natalya with a kick to the stomach, followed by going to work on her in the corner. Holy head butt!… when do we see that from women?—and this was believable. Natalya made a short comeback with a clothesline; however, Tamina regained control after Natalya was distracted by The Usos at ringside. What followed was Natalya fighting out of a Samoan drop, followed by a sharp shooter attempt. The match then ended abruptly when the Season One NXT wrestlers made their way to the ring.

Winner(s):No Contest at 1:14 when the NXT wrestlers interrupted the match.

Thoughts: This was Women’s Wrestling, despite Tamina’s short time as a wrestler, she has in-ring presence that we will never see looking at the likes of Kelly Kelly, Eve, Tiffany etc. And despite women like Maryse and Alicia Fox having very entertaining personalities, they will still come off as models, no matter how great they get in the ring.

Natalya of course, a veteran among the Women in the WWE, is phenomenal to look at. No flashy hurricanranas needed here, just hard hitting action, and when with physical presence to be believable.

WWE Divas – June 21, 2010 Raw Match:
The Great Khali & Eve vs. Primo & Divas Champion Alicia Fox

—The Great Khali and Eve where out to the ring first, followed by Primo & Divas Champion Alicia Fox. This was basically Eve vs. Alicia, with Eve dominating. After Alicia Fox left the match and made her way up the ramp, The Great Khali made short work of Primo.

Winner(s):The Great Khali & Eve at 3:57

Thoughts: Was the booking around the Divas title suppose to change because Alicia won the belt? Sorry for those with false hope that anything would change within 24 hours. In any case, this was a good night for Eve, who is getting better with her execution.

This week on Raw, the Usos and Tamina introduced themselves after last week’s attack on The Hard Dynasty. Also on Raw, was a mixed tag team match, and Alicia Fox executing a “hit” on Zack Ryder.

—After last week’s attack on The Hard Dynasty, the Uso Bothers and Tamina (Sarona Snuka) introduced themselves this week in a promo. The Hart Dynasty ran down to the ring to execute some revenge but unfortunately, the outcome was very much the same as last week, with the Uso clan hitting top rope cross bodies on all three members.

Thoughts: After last week’s debut, this was an excellent follow-up, and an instant hit. With the lackluster action from the women in Raw in recent times, this is definitely a feud to look forward to. While Tamina may not have the wrestling experience of Natalya, if booked right, this can be the Women’s feud of the year.

—In continuation of the Eve and Maryse feud, they were involved in a mixed tag team match. Eve and Maryse began this match, with Maryse tagging out early after Eve got the better of her. Regal and Santino continued the match. Eve got involved towards the end to break up a submission, followed by a short cat fight to ringside by Eve and Maryse. Santino ended up getting the win after Vladimir Kozlov attacked Regal.

Winner(s): Santino Marella & Divas Champion Eve

Thoughts: This match did nothing to move the Eve vs. Maryse forward, and was essentially a vessel for a potential pairing of Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov. Like noted earlier, at least we have Natalya vs. Tamina to look forward to.

—To round things off, Zack Ryder was involved in a storyline with guest host Ashton Kutcher where Ashton put a “hit” out on him. The hitman ended up being his recent acquaintance Alicia Fox….

—Natalya and Eve met in the ring once again…this time, in the WWE Superstars Main Event for this week.

The Hart Dynasty defeated Cryme Tyme and Eve in a Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match. Natalya picked up the win for The Hart Dynasty after hitting Eve with a discus clothesline.

Star Of The Match: Eve. Natalya is great, she has been great for many years. She looked her usual self in the match. Eve on the other hand… It is said that the more wrestlers work together, the better their matches. Eve proved this tonight, looking decent against Natalya. The ladies were very limited in the match, with the male wrestlers doing most of the work, however what was seen from them, was enjoyable. Eve is really refreshing after having to sit through the progress of Divas such as Maria, Kelly Kelly and other models turn wrestlers over the years.

TNA IMPACT

—Tonight on iMPACT!, Tara & Christy Hemme defeated Hamada & Sojo Bolt, to advance in the Knockouts Tag Team Titles Tournament. Tara picked up the win for her team after hitting Sojo with her widow’s peak. Hamada didn’t take the loss well, and preceded to decimate Sojo with her “Hamada driver,” …Good riddance to an awful pairing.

These teams were perhaps the two most odd pairings in the Tag Team Tournament. Tara and Christy visually together simply doesn’t mesh well, as with Sojo and Hamada—Not only in apperance, but in skillset. After the tournament, it is evident, Tara and Hamada should not continue as tag team wrestlers, utilize them in the Knockouts singles competition, where they will excel.

While there was some great exchanges between Tara and Hamada, the match left a lot to be desired. Much like the crowd reaction, which was not the normal hyped crowd for the Knockouts. With a focus on wrestling tonight on iMPACT!, the knockouts simply didn’t stack up well enough against the men’s matches.

Star Of The Match: N/A. I will call this one a dud, why? Like noted above, there was too much to be desired. Tara & Hamada did pretty well for their first meeting, especially with the exchanges the attempted, but neither managed to rise above an steal the show (match). Regardless, Hamada and Tara will do great things in the ring together in the future.

—This week on WWE Superstars, the ECW feud between Katie Lea Burchill and The Bellas continued as Brie Bella took on Katie. This match saw Nikki switch with Brie to pick up the win after a roll-up, much like Katie’s match last week against Nikki. Not much great things can be said about this match, typical Bella Twins offense, which was very sloppily done. These two woman had zero chemistry with each other what-so-ever.

—Cryme Tyme (with Eve) defeated The Hart Dynasty (with Natalya) this week on WWE Superstars, and due to an altercation between Eve and Natalya, a mixed tag-team match was booked for Smackdown!. Natalya picked up the win for her team in the mixed-tag match after hitting a devastating clothesline to Eve. Eve sold the clothesline nicely and pulled off a well done cartwheel into a standing moonsault unto Natalya during the match. Beside these moments, she still looked like a model turn wrestler.

—Raw had some T&A this week with the bikini match, and so did Smackdown! this week, in the form of Layla dancing. In her hometown, she sported a Miami Heat jersey, and showed the crowd why she was a Miami Head cheerleader. The dancing was later interrupted by Ricky Ortiz.
