Since 2003 Wrestlingclothesline.com has been doing their list of the top 50 Women Wrestlers of the independent circuit. Before being signed to the WWE, Beth Phoenix, Trinity, Cherry (aka Kara Slice), Krissy Vaine, Natalya Neidhart and Mickie James (aka Alexis Laree) have all made the list. Also after their time in the WWE, both Jazz and Gail Kim managed to make the last. Their has been only 3 women that has top this list Traci Brooks (2003), April Hunter (2004, 2005, 2006) and Nikki Roxx/Roxxi Laveaux (2007). This year we have a brand new number one and tons of new names making the list.

The list doesn’t feature any WWE contracted Divas. Also TNA Knockouts are featured on the list but if they wrestle only in TNA, their rankings will be lower than other women. Women who wrestled more frequently will get ranked higher than women who wrestle less or only for a certain promotions. Valet or Managers will not be featured and women who have been out due to injuries or out of action for the most part of the year will not make the list. Poor booking will not have any effect on their rankings.

This year’s new number one is no other then Sara Del Rey. Ms.Chiff (2), Roxxi/Nikki Roxx (3), Cheerleader Melissa (4) and Portia Perez (5) are names to follow. There are a few name that jumped into the top 10 this year. Those names are Sarah Stock (6) , Lu Fisto (7) and Sumie Siaki (10). This Year’s List features 12 new names to the list. Angelina Love makes it back on the last since 2004 where she was Number 11. She makes her return on the list at Nr. 19. Making their debut on the list this year are Shark Girl (who shares a spot with herself at 17 as Daffney), Nicole Matthews (22), Jennifer Blake (23), Kelly Couture (26), Cherry Bomb (30), Ashley Lane (32), Jazzi Bi (34), Jaime D aka Sirelda (40), Kat Powers (49) and Veronika Vice (50).
