What an eventful week…From WSU’S phenomenal DVD taping, which included Portia Perez, Mercedes Martinez, Amber O’neal, Rain and more, to Tammy “Sunny” Sytch’s attacks on Lacey Von Erich and internet reporters.
Former TNA and WWE Diva Shelly Martinez is in contact with the AAA promotion in Mexico to become a manager. She left TNA to film an Italian movie and TNA denied her request for a raise to remain with the company.
– As reported earlier, Shelly “Salinas” Martinez is parting ways with TNA because she asked for a pay raise to turn down a film role. TNA didn’t give in and Martinez handed in her noticed as a result. Her contract was expiring soon and she was uncertain over her future. The idea of breaking up LAX for Hernandez to go as a single has resurfaced as of late. Martinez saw that as a bad thing for her, so that also played a part in her decision to leave.

– The TNA website has acknowledged the latest issue of Pro Wrestling Illustrated, featuring the first-ever PWI Top 50 Female rankings in professional wrestling. A number of Knockouts are listed in the magazine and it is noted that one of them earned the No. 1 spot. They posted the cover of the magazine, which features Awesome Kong, Angelina Love & Velvet Sky, as well as WWE Divas Michelle McCool & Beth Phoenix. You can see the cover at this link.

– TNA has plans to release T-Shirts of The Beautiful People. They plan on releasing shirts for both girls and guys. You can see the girls shirt at this link. Velvet Sky wrote in a blog on her MySpace page: “The mens shirt will feature the very same slogan, expect it will be in black. They will be available in womens babydoll tees as well! Also for you fellas out there who wanna wear us on yourselves we know not all men like pink, (but real men wear it) so there will be black t-shirts with white font available just for you!”
Independent Wrestler Lexxus has been rumored to have signed with TNA Wrestling…
– A women’s wrestler by the name of Lexxus from the New England area has reportedly signed a contract with TNA to wrestle in their Knockouts division. She wrestled Awesome Kong at last night’s Impact taping, which is scheduled to air next week. She is based out of the Chaotic Wrestling promotion.
– In a correction, apparently Karen Angle filed for divorce from Kurt – not the other way around as previously reported on the Bubba the Love Sponge radio show.

– Former TNA Knockout Shelly “Salinas” Martinez is set to appear in an upcoming film entitled DaZe: Vol. Too (sic) – NonSeNse, according to IMDB.com. Her character is listed as “Vampire.” Gary Busey stars in the film. She also appeared in a show called “Secretos” earlier in the year. Her character name was “Stripper.”

– Shelly Martinez has posted a blog on her film shoot, which initiated the split between her and TNA. Martinez wrote: “Hey everyone!! I just got home from day 2 of filming Darkness of Knight. 2am is better than 4am that’s for sure!! We called it a wrap last night at 4am!! Anywho, everything is going really well and I can’t wait for this project to be finished and see the end product. My costar is a hoot!! We got to do our love scene today and I am not gonna lie it was pretty hot!! So pretty much I got paid today to make out with a cool hot dude from Australia (ladies he does have an accent yum!!). I did get to display my dramatic acting today. I went back to some dark places to prepare for the scene and it made me wonder what if part of the reason I went through those dark moments was apply them when I act. Maybe I was meant all along to be an actress. Revisiting those moments really helped me pull some of the best performances I have done to date. So yay!! Well, I am off to watch Three’s Company and go to sleep and see what awaits me tomorrow…Nite!!”
When the story broke of Gail Kim leaving TNA Wrestling, the status of Awesome Kong was also brought into question seeing as her contract expires in October. A couple of months ago, one wouldn’t even second guess if TNA would do whatever it took to keep Gail in the company, apparently not. But are they foolish enough to do the same with Awesome Kong? More than any other women, Gail Kim and Awesome Kong should have been considered as the glue of the Division because the truth is, it’s their feud that got huge acclaim, something that has yet to be reproduced.
The fact is, many women were brought into the company at the same time when the Women’s title was sanctioned. Now Angelina Love, Velvet Sky and ODB are all in question. Evidently, TNA didn’t make much of the Women’s Division enough at the time to sign these girls for more than 1 year. A regret I’m sure with someone like Awesome Kong. With the Knockouts having the most consistent ratings, TNA is stepping on thin ice when they negotiate new deals. Salinas just quit the company, apparently she wanted more money, no major loss, however it says something about what TNA is willing to pay their female talent.

– In addition to Awesome Kong’s, three more TNA Knockouts’ contracts are set to expire next month – Angelina Love, Velvet Sky and ODB. All of the girls TNA signed to contracts last October were signed to one-year deals following their respective tryouts in a battle royal match at the Bound For Glory pay-per-view. We have yet to hear anything on their contracts being renewed, but you’d think TNA would want to considering that they’re integral parts of the popular Knockouts division.
All three ladies have been on WWE’s radar before, but things didn’t work out for all them for one reason or another. It should be interesting to see if WWE comes into play and gives them a second look like in the case of Gail Kim after showing what they can do on a national stage over the past year. The three have proven themselves to be consistent ratings draws for TNA Impact.
Angelina Love was previously under a developmental contract to WWE, but was let go in May 2007. She was close to being called up to the main roster a few times, but could never break through for one reason or another. In January 2006, she tore her ACL the week before her scheduled call-up as the manager of John Bradshaw Layfield.
Velvet Sky has worked with WWE a few times in the past. She wrestled Victoria in a match on Heat in July 2005 when she was a relative unknown. She also did guest spots during a JBL championship celebration in February 2005 and on an episode of WWE Heat in January 2006 with The Heart Throbs. She auditioned for the Diva Search contest last year, but was unable to make the final cut.
WWE had ODB under their nose in Ohio Valley Wrestling in 2006/2007, and despite being the most over female in the promotion at the time, were never interested in signing her to a developmental contract. She also tried out for the inaugural season of Tough Enough and made the top 25, but missed the final cut for the show.
– The TNA website has removed Salinas‘ profile from the roster section, which should confirm Internet reports of her departure from the company. TNA almost never releases “future endeavors” messages on departing talent, so this is their way of signaling a performer’s departure from the company.
As it stands right now, as a rumor, Salinas (Shelly Martinez) is done with TNA. On tonight’s No Surrender Pay Per View, it was said by announcers that Jacqueline Moore attacked Salinas and sent her to the hospital, which was how TNA scripted her not being with LAX during their match against Beer Money Inc.. Jacqueline Moore worked the match injured, after loosing teeth just the night before. She was instrumental in Beer Money picking up the win.

During tonight’s TNA PPV, they announced that Jackie Moore had attacked Salinas backstage. That was Salinas’ storyline exit as she’s quit the company. The story making the rounds was that she had booked a role in an Italian film that would have put her into conflicts with TNA bookings. I’ve heard she offered to give up the film role if TNA would give her a pay raise and when that didn’t happen,gave her notice. I believe TNA tried to get her to come into the PPV and TV this week to be written out but when that happened, they simply said she was attacked off camera.

Choices

Hey everyone! First I want to say to everyone who ordered my photos sorry for the delay. The printing held it up so I will send those off this week and have a little gift for you guys or gals for the trouble!!
Anywho, this blog is about choices. Sometimes in life you find yourself saying “I have no choice” and you follow your heart even if it seems at the time your heart may be breaking when you do follow your heart and commit to it. I made a big decision recently and when it is time to talk about it I promise I will have a follow up blog explaining. I care about all my fans and appreciate your support. On a good note, when you find it’s time to close a door another door (weather you looking or not) opens right up and I’ve peaked inside and decided to open it and walk right in LOL
Starting tomorrow I will be begin to film an Italian inspired thriller. I had rehearsal yesterday and my costar and I have great chemistry together so it will be grand!! YAY!! I am working on having my camera guy shoot some behind the scene for my new site!! Yes, I am disappointed to lose something important to me for this role but at the same time change, scary change, always seems to lead to bigger and better things. I will keep you all posted, until then remember no matter what 5150 LAX por vida!!!!
