WSU “Uncensored” episode 6 is now on InaSecTV.com. The sixth episode featured Brittney Savage challenging Alicia for the WSU Spirit Championship in an Empty Arena Match. This turned into an all out street fight, with the ladies brawling into the parking lot.

WSU “Uncensored” episode 5 is now on InaSecTV.com. The fifth episode features Brittney Savage’s Cosmo Club, with commentary from WSU Champion Mercedes Martinez, Pryme Tyme Amy Lee and more. WSU returns to action this Friday August 6th, at the Middletown VFW Hall in New Jersey.

WSU (Women Superstars Uncensored) “Uncensored” episode 3 is now on InaSecTV.com. The third episode features the first-ever WSU champion Alicia. The show also featured Lethalwow.com 2009 Wrestler of the Year: Mercedes Martinez (Lethalwow’s Top 25 Wrestlers of 2009). The video is continued promotion for WSU’s Third Annual Uncensored Rumble.

The Internet wrestling community has put many women on pedestals as the top independent wrestlers over the years. With the rise of companies such was Shimmer Women Athletes, in which many of the cult followings have been perpetuated from their roster over the years—Often many women who have not appeared or a mainstay on Shimmer DVD productions, have been overlooked. On the other side of the fence is Women Superstars Uncensored, which in many ways is an alternative to Shimmer. Which is not bad thing by any means, as both companies are great in their respective ways. For instance, while women like Amber O’neal may be used as a jobber on Shimmer, she gets a chance to showcase her talents in WSU. In Shimmer, Rain is a tag team wrestler; however in WSU she battles 20 minute main event matches. In Shimmer you can get your fix of greats like Cheerleader Melissa, MsChif, Daizee Haze, Amazing Kong, The Canadian Ninjas and many others, but in WSU you get Angel Orsini, former WWE Women’s Champion Jazz and many special appearances from the likes of SoCal Val, Angelina Love and many women of wrestling cult icons such as Dawn Marie and Molly Holly. When comparing titles though, the WSU title should have more prestige, as it is defended on a full-time basis, while the Shimmer title is defended just a handful of times a year. WSU Champion Mercedes has defended the title double the times Shimmer Champion MsChif has, in half the time of holding the belt. With that said, one women that should be put on a pedestal, is the first-ever! WSU Champion Alicia!. Alicia is often one of those overlooked athletes, despite making history over and over.

Women Superstars Uncensored was founded in 2007, and on July 14, 2007 the first champion was crowned. Alicia defeated Nikki Roxx, Luna Vachon and Amy Lee in a No-disqualification falls count anywhere match. In her two title reigns, she defended the title against the likes of Nikki Roxx, Becky Bayless, Alexa Thatcher, Velvet Sky, and numerous others. Prior to WSU, Alicia held the SSCW Women’s Championship, and the World Xtreme Wrestling Women’s Championship; however, her career will always be highlighted by her history in WSU. Can she become the Moolah of the promotion?

On June 6, 2009, Alicia held more gold in WSU. At the “Uncensored Rumble II,” Brooke Carter and Alicia defeated Jessicka Havok and Hailey Hatred to become the WSU Tag Team Champions. The ladies held the titles for 2 months before loosing to Jessicka Havok and Hailey Hatred. A feud then developed between tag partners Brooke Carter and Alicia. This escalated to December 12, 2009, where Alicia defeated Brittney Savage in a grudge match to win the WSU Spirit Championship. That night Alicia made history, becoming the first-ever WSU triple crown champion…The only woman to hold the WSU World Title, Tag Team Title, and Spirit Title. After one successful defense, she lost the title at WSU’s Anniversary show to Brooke Carter. This was a minor set-back, and she decided to focus on becoming WSU champion once again.

On April 2, 1010, Alicia put herself in the number one contender position after winning three matches to become the 2010 J-Cup tournament winner. On June 26, 2010, she will get her shot at the current WSU Champion, Mercedes Martinez. In round one of the tournament, she defeated Tina San Antonio. In round 2, she took out her former tag team partner Brittney Savage (Brooke Carter). She then went on to defeat Angel Orsini with a michinoku driver to earn her title shot. Just one night later, at the WSU/NWS King & Queen of the Ring tournament, she and Devon Moore defeated three teams to win the tournament. Can she dethrone Mercedes Martinez come June 26 to become a 3-time WSU Champion? In 10 years will she be considered the Moolah of WSU? She certainly shares the title as a first-ever champ.

The truth is, with the last two champions; Angel Orisin and Mercedes Martinez, the bar has been set high. Alicia’s title reigns combined comes no where close to that of either Mercedes or Angel. Angel Orsini defended her title against the likes of Nikki Roxx, Amy Lee, Awesome Kong, Mercedes Martinez, Portia Perez and many more. Mercedes topped that, retaining despite being given the best competition in WSU history. Angel and Mercedes even made history facing each other in a grueling 60-Minute Iron Man match. Very steep shoes for even the first-ever WSU champion to follow. Defeating the reigning champ Mercedes would be a huge feat in itself, and if she does, living up to the prestige will be another. There is no doubt though that the only triple crown winner in WSU is up for the challenge. We’ll be watching Alicia!.

—Leading up to WSU’s Anniversary show, the ladies will be on the road. On February 6 at National Wrestling Superstars in Edison, NJ, one-half of the WSU Tag Champions Angel Orsini will take on Sumie Sakai. On February 13 at ACE Pro Wrestling in Union City, NJ, WSU Spirit Champion Alicia will defend against Jana. Alicia defeated Brittney Savage on December 12, 2009 to win the title.

—Prowrestling.net reported two days ago that Awesome Kong was not granted her release from TNA. It was revealed that Awesome Kong has been unhappy with the company for some time now over the salary that the Knockouts receive in comparison to the male stars.

WSU Wrestling, the promotion with the most Women’s Wrestling shows in the United Stated, released three new DVDs just in time for the holidays. In this edition of The Rundown: Former Three-time WWE Women’s Champion Ivory talks to WWE.com, Alicia becomes the First-ever WSU Triple Crown Champion, WSU Notes, Maria the 2009 Diva of the Year and more.

—TNA has officially announced it’s 4-hour “New Years Knockout Eve iMPACT!” special. The show will consist of all knockouts matches, and also feature the best matches of 2009. This will be a big night for Women’s Wrestling fans. Tune in Thursday December 31, for a must see show. Who will show up? Angelina Love? Roxxi? Jacqueline? Jazz? Sojo? How about some of our favorites of the Independent scene?

This will certainly hold all the naysayers at bay, who were quick to lash out on TNA for the controversial booking of the Knockouts on last week’s show (TNA Knockouts – December 10, 2009 Impact Report). The show included a drunken brawl between Tara & ODB, a mud-match between Lacey and Velvet, among other matches. It was all in good fun—The Knockouts Division should be back on track on this week’s episode of Impact.

—Speaking of controversial bookings and disgruntled fans. On the December 14 episode of Raw, Maria was announced as the 2009 WWE Diva of the year. What? Really? And we are suppose to believe that this was a result of online voting? Notice the word “booking” being used. Even if fans were voting with their ***** and not their brains, Maria wouldn’t win… Kelly Kelly maybe, even Maryse. How about arguable the most popular WWE Diva; Mickie James, who has consistently won any legit contest involving reactions or voting.

Could Maria’s win have anything to do with her scheduled role as a contestant on the upcoming season of Celebrity Apprentice?

Maria’s push is now in full effect. On the December 15 episode of ECW, she was featured on the “The Abraham Washington Show.” In the segment, they did a recap of the Kanye West/Taylor Swift parody done by Maria and Batista during her acceptance speech from Raw, among other shenanigans. —Also on ECW, was Savannah (Angela Fong) making her ECW ring announcing debut.

—Former three-time WWE Women’s Champion Ivory is featured on WWE.com in their “Where Are They Now?” section. (Click Here For The Article) This was part one of the feature, which focused on her days as “Tina Ferrari,” in the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (G.L.O.W.) and Powerful Women of Wrestling.

—Speaking of former WWE Women’s Champions, Thank you! to all the wrestling sites (Wrestlezone, Diva Dirt & More) that featured our Jazz video from this past weekend as WSU taped “The Awesome Challenge” DVD. Yes, Women Superstars Uncensored latest taping which took place December 12, 2009 is tentatively set to be titled “The Awesome Challenge.” The main event, was Mercedes Martinez successfully defending her title in a hard fought battle against Awesome Kong. Also on the show, was Alicia defeating Brittney Savage to become the new WSU Spirit Champion.

Lethalwow will like to congratulate Alicia, who became the first-ever WSU Triple Crown Champion (World, Tag & Spirit) with the win. Also this past weekend was the WWE’s big TLC pay per view (WWE Divas – TLC PPV Results), which saw Michelle McCool successfully defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Mickie James. This was a great way for the Divas to end the year. Mickie James, who has been criticized for her lackluster performances certainly proved a lot of naysayers wrong. Michelle on the other hand, continued to showcase the great athlete she is. There are still two more matches to be added to our annual Women of Wrestling Year-End Awards. —Beautiful People member Lacey Von Erich was recently engaged. Here is what she had to say via her facebook page…”I just got engaged last night, so happy.”

Lacey has been seen negatively in the eyes of wrestling fans since her debut in TNA. Apparently TNA higher ups are not pleased either. Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that TNA road agents are not fond of her.

Lacey Von Erich will be signing autographs at the Tri-Star Collector’s Show in Houston, Texas on 1/24/10.

—Madison Rayne on the other hand, has been said to be impressing TNA road agents.

—Former WWE Diva Lilian Garcia has been keeping busy since her departure from the WWE. She recently sang the national anthem at the Jets vs.Panthers game on November 29th at Giants Stadium. Also, Lilian Garcia recently did a photo shoot for the NOH8 Campaign, which is petitioning against anti-gay marriage laws.

—Stacy Keibler has been keeping busy promoting her appearance on “How I Met Your Mother.” The 100th episode title “Girls vs. Suits,” will air January 11 on CBS. Stacy recently took the time to answer fans questions on Twitter. Among the questions answered was Gail Kim being her favorite current WWE Diva, and the friends she keeps up with from the WWE, which includes Torrie Wilson, Lilian Garcia and Gail Kim.

—Business continued as usually in Knockouts and Divas action. Two gems came from the December 3rd edition of Impact, and the December 4 edition of Smackdown. Hamada defeated one of the TNA Knockouts Tag Champs, Sarita in a excellent match. WSU Raining Misery began with a recap of the ending events of WSU Excellence between Rain, Jessicka Havok, Hailey Hatred, Portia Perez, Angel Orsini and Mercedes Martinez. (See: WSU Excellence Review)

Up next was a promo from Sassy Stephie, followed by one from “The Definition of Technician” Cindy Rogers, saying that she was going to make Sassy tap out.

Match Number 1:
Cindy Rogers vs Sassy Stephanie
Like WSU Excellence, this was another technical match from Cindy Rogers. The ladies began with a tie up, followed by nice reversals. Sassy Stephie did a great job holding her own in this match, as with getting the fans involved. In this match, you will almost forget that Sassy began wrestling in 2007, giving up a good 6 years to Cindy Rogers, who began wrestling in 2001. The finish came with Cindy getting a Russian legsweep on Sassy, followed by a Rear naked choke submission.

Winner: Cindy Rogers at 7:42

Post-Match: John Fallon Jr did a ringside interview with Cindy in which she said that she would be working her way up to the top.

Missy Hyatt, Becky Bayless and Alicia then made their way to the ring. Alicia got on the microphone, with fighting words for Brittney Savage.

Match Number 2:
Alicia & Becky Bayless (w/Missy Hyatt) vs. Brittney Savage & Rick Cataldo

This match started with Alicia getting the upper hand on Rick Cataldo in their exchanges. Becky and Rick then mixed it up before Brittney got tagged in. Rick and Brooke kept Becky from tagging Alicia in the minutes that followed. Alicia finally got tagged in, and the former tag team partners Alicia and Brittney went at it, with Alicia getting the better of it. The finish came with Becky Bayless hitting bulldog on Rick, followed by Alica hitting him with her “oral fixation” (running big boot to the corner). Winner: Alicia & Becky Bayless at 8:18

Post-Match: Brittney Savage threw a fit with Rick Cataldo.

Up next was a promo from “The modern day Moolah” Malia Hosaka, on her match against Amber O’Neal. This one was pretty interesting in that she noted that while Amber has been wrestling for 10 years, she has been wrestling for 21 years. 22 actually…

Match Number 3:
Amber O’Neal vs. Malia Hosaka

Like in WSU Excellence, this started off with a lot of stalling from Amber O’Neal. Although there was a lack of wrestling for the first 4 minutes, this was thoroughly entertaining. Amber is simply flawless with her gimmick, making her extremely enjoyable to watch. Amber got the majority of offense in this match with the use of a lot of dirty tactics, with Malia making a comeback towards the end. The finish came when Malia missed a top top move, which left her wide open for Amber’s “Amber Alert” (backslide into a bridge).
Winner: Amber O’Neal at 9:32, with the “Amber Alert”

Out next was Jana, Lea Morrison and Spirit Champion Luscious Latasha…

Match Number 4:
WSU Spirit Championship Match
Latasha vs. Jana vs. Lea Morrison

This match began with Latasha and Lea teaming up against Jana. Shortly after, Jana threw Latasha out the ring, and it was a one and one between Jana and Lea. Latasha made several attempts to get back in the action, however Jana continuously threw her out—The sit-out time was believable, as their was no ringside padding. Latasha finally got back into the action with forearms to Jana, only for Lea to get offense on both of them. Like in WSU Excellence, Lea’s saving grace was the announcers giving her the rookie treatment. The finish was abrupt, with no built… Jana hit Lea with a spine buster to become the New WSU Spirit champion. Lea looked genuinely injured.
Winner: Jana at 5:45

Out next was Rain accompanied by Jessicka Havok & Hailey Hatred, for her WSU #1 contender match. Portia Perez followed, in what looked like a 3 on 1 disadvantage. Angel & Mercedes cleared the ring of the WSU tag team champions, and they brawled to the back.

WSU World Title #1 Contender Match
Rain vs. Portia Perez

In WSU “Excellence,” we saw the a very hardcore side of Rain as she battled Angel Orsini in a “uncensored rules match.” In this match, it was a mix of brawling and technical offense. The start saw some nice exchanges as the ladies kept to the mat. It gradually moved from nice reversals to Rain taking advantage with heel tactics. This kept Portia on the defense for the majority of the match. The finish came with Rain kicking out a bulldog, followed by a series of small packages…when the ladies got to their feet, Rain was able to hit her Rain Drop (Falling inverted DDT) for the win.
Winner: Rain at 10:42

Up next was a promo from the WSU Tag team champions Hailey Hatred and Jessicka Havok.

Match Number 6:
WSU Tag Team Title Match
Jessicka Havok & Hailey Hatred vs. Angel Orsini & Mercedes Martinez

The match began with both Angel and Mercedes taking it to Haily and Havok with a flurry of offense, followed by a double suplex on Haily. After a double elbow, Mercedes and Angel took turns in the ring with Haily in the minutes that followed. Havok and Jessicka were able to turn things around when Jessicka illegally replace Haily. They then returned the favor by cutting Mercedes off from Angel as they dished out the pain. Mercedes was able to get a tag to Angel after a neckbreaker on Haily. Angel cleaned house, until more dirty tactics from Haily and Havok. Angel was on the defense untill Mercedes was able to get a hot tag. The ladies then pulled high-risk moves with suicide dives  to Haily and Havok. When it looked like there was going to be new tag team champions, Rain interfered, followed by Portia taking on Rain. All hell broke loose, and the match was thrown out by the referee.
Winners: Announced as No Contest at 16:45 by WSU commentators.

Post-Match: Rain brutally attacked Mercedes Martinez with a chair, and paraded around with the WSU World Title. Mercedes needed help to the back.

The DVD closed with promos from Mercedes Martinez and Amber O’Neal.

This was an excellent tag team match, with great psychology. Haily and Havok could make a great addition to TNA’s tag team division.
