In 1984 Nancy Daus made her debut into Pro-Wrestling
as 'Fallen Angel' in Florida Championship Wrestling.
She was part of Kevin Sullivan's Army of Darkness
faction (The Satanists) as a valet and in 1985
married Kevin Sullivan. There she had a slave/master
relationship with Kevin Sullivan, and on occasions
she was beaten by Kevin Sullivan. Perhaps one
of her memorable moments of that time was her
jealousy for 'The Lock' (Winona Little Heart),
competing for the attention of Kevin Sullivan.
The two broke out into catfights on numerous
occasions. As the Fallen Angel, she was also
actively involved in match-ups by providing
inferences and distractions. She worked for
Florida Championship Wrestling until 1987. Previous
to her debut as a valet she modeled in pro-wrestling
magazine wrestling All Stars and as "Para" in
an 'Apartment Wrestling' feature in a Sports
Review Wrestling magazine. This was all due to her husband at the time; Jim Daus, being involved in wrestling. It was her stunning looks that got the 5'4"
beauty into the business, however as
she continued in wrestling, an even more vicious vixen emerged.
In
1989, she appeared in WCW (NWA) as a fan of
Rick Steiner known as Robin Greene. A love angle came into play as Rick Steiner fell in love with Robin however; Robin Green's innocent was nothing but a conning, calculated woman. After causing
The Steiner Brothers to loose a huge match-up
she left Rick to manage the masked team of Doom
(Ron Simmons and Butch Reed) as well as being
associated with Nitron (Tyler Mane: Sabretooth
in X-Men) who was her bodyguard. A feud between
Doom and the Steiners was in order. From that
point she took on the name "Woman."
Her time with Doom and Nitron did not last;
in 1990 Woman was aligned with The Four Horsemen,
mainly The Nature Boy Ric Flair but later left
WCW (NWA). Nancy returned to the Independent
circuit including Jim Cornette's Smokey Mountain
Wrestling as Devil Angel, along with Kevin Sullivan.
She also managed D.C. "Mad Dog" Drake to winning
the Tri-State heavyweight title in 1990 and
also Larry Winters and Johnny Hotbody to capture
the Tri-State tag team championships.
Soon after, she found herself in ECW in 1993
where she managed the tag team of Kevin Sullivan
and The Tazmaniac, who became tag team champions.
She later managed The Sandman and 2 Cold Scorpio,
who also won the ECW Tag-Team titles. Her time
with The Sandman was perhaps one of the most
notable associations in her career.
After her ECW stint, she returned to WCW in
1996. At first she was part of Hulk Hogan and
Randy Savage's entourage, however she quickly
returned to being aligned with The Four Horsemen.
Other women such as Miss Elizabeth & Debra McMichaels
were also part of the alliance. After an on
television romance with Horsemen member Chris
Benoit, they developed a real life relationship
and Woman divorced Kevin Sullivan and later
married Christ Benoit.
Woman retired from wrestling after her time
in WCW ended in 1997, and gave birth to a child
with Chris Benoit in 2000 named Daniel. At the
WWE's Wrestlemania XX Pay Per View, Nancy celebrated
in the ring with Chris Benoit after he won the
World Heavyweight Title.
Horrible news broke on June 25th, 2007 was it
was reported that Nancy, Chris Benoit and their
son Daniel were found dead at their home in
Atlanta. It was later revealed that the incident
was a murder suicide; Chris Benoit murdered
Nancy and their son and then hung himself. Reports
reported that Nancy died on June 22nd.
Woman paved the way for wrestling valets. Her
death came just a week after the loss of another
great trailblazer; Sensation Sherri Martel.
