Michelle McCool Michelle McCool started her WWE career as a 2004 RAW Diva Search Contest Finalist. On August 16th, 2004, on Raw, Michelle McCool was eliminated from the Diva Search Contest and she returned later on November 18th, 2004's Smackdown as a personal trainer to numerous wrestlers.

Many praised Michelle McCool for the athletic ability she showed, and felt as she was a promising prospect to become a good wrestler. She gradually went from being in backstage segments to participating in Smackdown Diva contests and matches. Despite losing to Joy Giovanni in a Diva Rookie Contest on February 20th, 2005 at No Way Out, she went on to prove herself to be a worthy personality. She had a short feud against Dawn Marie and then Melina Perez. On June 30th 2005's Smackdown episode, Melina Perez defeated Michelle McCool and then suffered at the hands of MNM with their Snapshot finisher. She was then sent to Deep South Wrestling and taken off Smackdown television.

Michelle McCool After working in Deep South Wrestling, she returned to Smackdown on June 2, 2006 with a "school teacher" gimmick. She immediately began competing in Diva contests and matches and starting a rivalry with Ashley Massaro. 2 months later in August, she began managing K.C. James & Idol Stevens and continued feuding with Ashley who was allied with Brian Kendrick & Paul London. Unfortunately in November of 2006, Michelle McCool had to be hospitalized for enlarged kidney and an electrolyte imbalance. She mad her return to Smackdown in 2007. On March 30th 2007's SmackDown Michelle took part in a 10-Woman tag team match as Ashley & Mickie & Maria & Candice & Torrie beat Melina & Victoria & Jillian & Kristal & herself. Michelle later played a fan favorite as she managed Chuck Palumbo. They feuded against Dykstra w/Victoria, and later against Jamie Noble. Chuck Palumbo later turned on Michelle, and she aligned herself with Jamie Noble.

By 2008, Michelle McCool was the top female wrestler on Smackdown!, and making wrestling appearances on Raw. On April 4, 2008 onSmackDown!, Michelle McCool won a SmackDown! Divas Competition to win a new motorcycle, in which weekly contests where held, with Victoria, Eve Torres, Maryse and Cherry. That night, Natalya Neidhart made her and attacked both Michelle McCool & Cherry. Throughout the next couple of week, she feuded against Natalya Neidhart which culminated with the creation of a new Women's title. On July 20, 2008, Michelle defeated Natalya Neidhart at The Great American Bash to become the first WWE Divas Champion.On the December 26, 2008 edition of SmackDown!, Maryse defeated Michelle McCool to become Divas Champion after hitting Michelle with a heel kick. Michelle then made a full-fledged heel turn, attacking Maria, who was the special guest referee.
