Maryse Ouellet - Biography
Maryse Ouellet was born on January 21, 1983 in Montreal, Quebec and began to get recognition as a model, before trying out for the World Wrestling Entertainment in the 2006 Diva Search Contest. Layla El went on to winning the contest and signed a developmental contract with the WWE and began working in Ohio Valley Wrestling into 2007. In OVW, she shared the ring with the likes of Beth Phoenix, Katie Lea, Beth Phoenix, Milena Roucka, Victoria Crawford and more. She made minor appearances on Raw and Smackdown, and later worked for Florida Championship Wrestling for the second half of 2007.
In 2008, Maryse began making frequent appearances on Smackdown, and on March 30, 2008 at WrestleMania 24, she participated as a Lumberjill in the Playboy BunnyMania match. On May 9, 2008 on SmackDown!, Deuce & Domino dumped their valet Cherry and replaced her with Maryse. She then began to have a more permanent role on the show. She then made her Smackdown! in-ring debut on May 16, 2008 as Cherry defeated her. Both ladies then continued to feud.
