On August 16, 2006
Layla won the
2006
$250,000 WWE Diva Search on a one hour special aired
on the USA network. Throughout the summer, she would compete
in contests and survived eliminations. She won contests which
included a July 14th Sgt. Slaughter 's Diva Boot Camp, showing
great athleticism on Smackdown and on the August 11th edition
of Smackdown in which Layla won the Diva Search Talent Show.
Prior to the contest,
Layla worked as a dancer
for the NBA's Miami Heat Team.
On August 25th 2006's Smackdown episode, it was official that
Layla was going to be a Smackdown Diva as she was interviewed
by The Miz. Not long after she began a rivalry against
Kristal
Marshall in which The Miz later joined forces
with Kristal. She participated in Diva matches and contests
on SmackDown! until the end of the year.
In 2007,
Layla El was moved to the
ECW
brand, On January 23, 2007 on ECW on Sci Fi along with Kelly
Kelly and Brooke Adams, she did a dance routine and the ladies
began to be known as Extreme Expose. The group later broke
up and Layla began feuding with
Kelly
Kelly.
Numerous media opportunities arose for Layla throughout there
year. In April 2007, Layla, along with

Kelly, Brooke Adams, Torrie Wilson,
