In 1986
Ivory made her wrestling debut on Gorgeous Ladies of
Wrestling (GLOW) as Tina Farrari, created by David McLane.
The show was filmed at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas,
Nevada, and gained a cult following. There Lisa Moretti
won the GLOW tag-team championship with partner; Ashley
Cartier, and defeated Colonel Ninotchka for the GLOW
Championship. Ivory went on to wrestle in David McLane
Powerful Women of Wrestling (POWW), under the name "Nina."
Lisa's wrestling legacy continued years later in the
World Wrestling Federation.
In an era where T&A seem to dominate, Lisa Moretti aka
Ivory managed to be the center of Women's Wrestling
in the WWF. Ivory made her WWE television debut on February
13, 1999, as a Valentine's Day gift to Mark Henry from
his buddy D-Lo Brown. Her true purpose however, was
to be the opposition for the valet of the World Tag
Team Champions; Debra. That night, Debra and Ivory got
into a catfight, and a feud between both ladies began.
The next night on Sunday Night Heat, Ivory got on the
microphone, berating Debra, fans got a first taste of
her now infamous mic skills that she has been praised
for over the years. During this period, Ivory sparked
feuds with PMS; Terri Runnels and Jacqueline, and a
few rough encounters with bodybuilder; Nicole Bass.
Her first spotlight match was on March 28, 1999, in
a pre WrestleMania XV, despite losing to Jacqueline.
Ivory has held the WWF Women's gold on 3 occasions and
during those times the Women's Division always flourished.
Her first Title reign in 1999 brought to the WWF; Women's
hardcore matches and even gave fans a history lessen,
when Ivory had a comical feud with the Fabulous Moolah
and Mae Young.
After Sable left the WWE, the Women's title was in the
hand of non-wrestler; Debra. Seeing that Debra and Ivory
were no strangers to each other, it was not surprise
that on 6/8/99, on a taping of Monday Night Raw, Ivory
defeated Debra to win the Women's title.
Ivory went on to feud with Tori(Terri Poch), and battled
her on August 22, 1999 at Summer Slam 99, and also battled
her in the first WWE Women's Hardcore match on September
6, 1999, on Monday Night Raw. Ivory also took on Luna
Vachon in a Hardcore match on September 26, 1999, at
the Unforgiven 99 Pay Per View. Ivory followed with
another huge victory on October 2, 1999, Ivory defeated
Tori, Luna Vachon, and Jackie at Rebellion 99 in Birmingham,
England however Ivory lost the title to The Fabulous
Moolah on October 17, 1999 at No Mercy 99. The match
wouldn't be her best showing, considering the age of
her opponent. Ivory however regained the title on October
25, 1999.
Ivory worked many title matches at house shows, but
was also thrown in many T&A slop matches, which lead
her to losing the title in a fluff match to non-wrestler;
Miss
Kitty, on December 12, 1999 at Armageddon 99. Ivory
was not pinned to loss the title.
During Ivory's break as Women's champ she had the opportunity
to host the WrestleMania all day long 2000 live special,
in which she was highly praised for her commentary skills.
Ivory continued to wrestling insignificant matches that
year, seeing as Stephanie McMahon was champ, as well
as job to the later Women's Champion, Lita.
Ivory soon after became the female member of Right to
Censor faction, which was a tremendous push. Her promo
and microphone skills were put to use as she had the
opportunity to work promos with The Rock, Chyna, and
other top superstars at the time. In no time she beat
Lita to regain the women strap and became one of the
biggest female heels in WWF history. Like her prior
title reigns she sparked emotions on the microphone
receiving intense heat from the crowds which created
great leverage in her wrestling matches.
After the Right to Censor angle ran
its course, Ivory jumped to WCW in the Alliance vs.
WWF storyline. After her very short angle in the WCW
invasion, she went on to be a trainer on MTV's Tough
Enough 2 and Tough Enough 3.
The Women's Division was then taken to another level
in 2002 and 2003, and Ivory competed despite not recapturing
the title during that period. Ivory seemed to be on
a winning streak against Women's Champ at the time Jazz,
on June 2nd 2003, June 9th, 2003, and June 16th 2003,
with 3 wins on Raw, Ivory seemed to be on the road to
becoming Women's Champ, the angle was seemingly dropped
when Jazz became injured with a shoulder injury.
Soon after, Ivory was sent to Ohio Valley Wrestling,
to train WWE development wrestlers. During this time,
Ivory was involved in some controversy involving Bobbi
Billard, a fitness model and former talent under David
McLane's "Women of Wrestling," show as "Summer". When
Bobbi was released from her WWE development contract,
she accused Ivory of physical and verbal abuse during
her training in Ohio Valley Wrestling.
Ivory spend her last days in the WWE television as co-host
for a weekly television show recapping events from RAW
and SmackDown called WWE Experience, and as a WWE announcer.
After the WWE Experience was cancelled on in August
of 2005, the WWE decided that they will not renew her
contract. Despite this, Ivory continued to wrestle on
the Indy circuit capturing the CCW Tag Team Championship
and the SuperGirls Championship.
