 Shannon Spruill first got into wrestling
in December 1999 as Daffney in WCW (World
Championship Wrestling). Daffney gained a following with her
goth gimmick as the girlfriend of David Flair and manager
of Crowbar (Devon Storm). A very green Daffney began wrestling
in 2008, becoming the undisputed WCW Cruiserweight championship
May 22, 2000 on Nitro after defeating Crowbar. She later lost
the title on June 6, 2000 to Chavo Guerrero, Jr. After her
title lose, she feuded against Stacy Kiebler.
Daffney took on Stacy keibler at WCW's Bash at the beach 2000
in a "Wedding Gown match." In February 2001, Daffney was released
by WCW. She continued training to wrestle Dusty Rhodes' Turnbuckle
Championship Wrestling training camp.
After WCW, Daffney established herself on
the independent scene. She also briefly worked as a valet;
Shark Girl --valet of Shark Boy in TNA (Total
Nonstop Action Wrestling) in 2002. In 2003, she was briefly
signed to a WWE Developmental contract, however she was released
on December 17, 2003.
After a brief retirement, she returned in 2006. In NWA Wrestle-Birmingham,
she captured the Junior title, and by 2007, she was wrestling
all over the united states. Opponents included Allison
Danger, Sara Del Rey, Talia
Madison (Velvet Sky), Mickie Knuckles,
Rachel Summerlyn, Gail Kim
and more.
In 2007, she made her debut in Shimmer, manager of MsChif. In Shimmer Volumes 14 though 16, she suffered loses to Lexie Fyfe, The Experience (Malia Hosaka & Lexie Fyfe) and Cindy Rogers. In 2008, she began wrestling under her Shark Girl gimmick. In Shimmer's Volume 17, 18 and 20, she defeated Nicole Matthews, Amber O'Neal and Veronika Vice respectively.
On the December 4, 2008edition of TNA iMPACT, Daffney
returned to TNA as a Sarah Palin impersonator,
in which she fooled The Beautiful People to believe that she
was the real Sarah Palin.
