TNA Wrestling – July 10, 2014, 2014 Knockouts Match
TNA Knockouts Championship
Gail Kim(c) vs. Angelina Love vs. Madison Rayne vs. Brittany
—Angelina Love made her way to the ring first, accompanied by Velvet Sky. Madison Rayne was out next, who was then attacked from behind by Brittany. Velvet Sky and Angelina then joined in, stomping away at Madison Rayne. Gail Kim’s music then hit, and she ran down to the ring, attacking Velvet Sky, and then followed by smashing the heads of The Beautiful People together. She then blast Brittany with a forearm and a shot to the back. Gail Kim then threw Angelina Love in the ring, likewise with Madison, who threw Brittany into the ring. We saw early team-work between Gail and Madison, with Brittany being left alone in the ring with the babyfaces. After disposing of Brittany, Gail Kim and Madison mixed it up, which was an enjoyable exchange.
Angelina Love inserted herself back into the match—dumping Gail Kim hard on the outside. Gail Kim was left at ringside recovering, as Brittany and Angelina teamed up against Madison inside the ring. The teamwork did not last long between Brittany and Angelina, in which Gail Kim took advantage of with a double missile drop kick from the top ropes. All ladies saw action in the moments that followed, leading up to a sequence of finishers. In the end, Gail Kim hit her Eat Defeat on Angelina Love for the win.
Winner: Gail Kim via Eat Defeat.
Thoughts: Great way to start this match… Brittany’s attack from behind was a nice follow up to last week’s heel turn, as with Gail Kim making the save. It was great seeing the former team of Gail Kim and Madison once again working together to begin things off. Of course it was every woman for herself, so that was short lived. Over-all, it was a fun match, with a few timing issues. I will have to agree with the Beautiful People on this one though… We should have seen a one-on-one rematch. Possibly with a stipulation, to mix things up.
