WrestleMania Divas

WWE.com has released some exclusive details regarding the Divas’ Championship match at WrestleMania 30. The Vickie Guerrero Invitational was announced on Raw – and AJ Lee would be defending her title against The Bella Twins, The Funkadactyls, Natalya, Layla, Alicia Fox, Eva Marie, Aksana, Rosa Mendes and Tamina Snuka. WWE.com is now reporting that the match will be one fall to a finish – and that AJ does not have to be pinned to lose the title. This clears up some confusion and eliminates other possibilities such as a gauntlet or a battle royal. Read about more news below after the cut:

Lita Trish

The next Diva to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame – Lita – announced some more big news this week. The person who will be inducting her is none other than last year’s inductee – Trish Stratus. Lita and Trish had one of the most famous Diva rivalries in history. We can’t think of anyone more fitting to induct Lita. Trish’s website has more details on both ladies’ opinions on the subject. Read below for details:

 Alexa Bliss

Over on NXT, the stable of Beautiful Fierce Females might be getting a new member. Recently Summer Rae, the original founder of the group, has been unable to appear at the NXT tapings. Coupling that with her main roster career starting to take off, a replacement could be on the way. Developmental Diva Alexa Bliss teamed with Sasha Banks and Charlotte in a 6-Diva tag match at NXT’s live event on Friday. They lost to Paige, Emma and Bayley. Alexa (real name: Lexi Kaufman) has been appearing on NXT television in bit parts since last summer but she could possibly be making the jump to a proper role. She first received an additional amount of fans when leaked footage from a promo class showed her playing the girlfriend of redneck Scott Dawson. Although she doesn’t seem to be continuing with that character, fans have been awaiting her debut ever since.

TNA Knockout Brittany (real name: Santana Garrett) asked on Twitter for thoughts and prayers for her father several hours ago. She later revealed that he had suffered a stroke. Thankfully she later tweeted

My dad had a stroke but is showing GREAT progress.

Your THOUGHTS & PRAYERS are working!

We wish Kenny Garrett a speedy recovery.

Over on my side of the world, the Irish girls experienced another first a short while ago. At Fight Factory Pro Wrestling’s event in Wicklow Town on February 14th – fans got to witness the first ever women’s triple threat match in Ireland. Katey Harvey, Lucyfer and Danger Dawn competed in it, with Katey picking up the win for her hometown crowd. Video footage of the match has just become available and can be seen below.

Additionally on the Irish front, good news for FFPW’s newest femme fatale. Siren made the transition from ring announcer to wrestler at Saturday’s show in Clara, Co. Offaly. Competing in her first match in nearly three years, she faced Katey Harvey. She got the victory with an MVP-inspired Playmaker. See below for pictures:

Full results from the show:

*Team Cork (“The Investment” Ross Browne, Marion Armstrong, Adam Armstrong & Colm Day) def. Team Bray (“The People’s Choice” Bobby Calloway, Dell PC, Mark Foy & LJ Cleary)

*Captain Deadbones Dawkins def. Phil “The Thrill” Boyd

*Siren def. Katey Harvey

Alexa Bliss for some reason has the instant look that I like and hopefully she will be impressive in the ring. And the divas match is at a risk of being a mess with 14 girls, hopefully it turns out good…

    • Bobby Calloway

Yeah I’m excited to see how she is in the ring. Judging from that promo, she’s able to play a character. I would have liked the redneck but we’ll see how she does with the Alpha Bitch role

  • Under Dean Ambrose’s Spell

I thought that the divas title match was just a elimination battle royal.

    • Bobby Calloway

I think it might end up like a 4-corners match where the Divas have to tag in
