Brooke Hogan

—On August 16, 2013, news hit the internet that Brooke Hogan was released from TNA Wrestling. Mike Johnson at pwinsider.com originally reported that the release was due to “budget restructuring.” It was further noted that internally TNA believed “that her role on Impact had run its course and the sides decided it was time to part ways,” with the door open for her return in the future.

Thoughts: This was certainly a shocking release that I did not see coming, considering her father—Hulk Hogan’s involvement with the company. TNA must be in quite the financial situation with all these releases in the past few months. As for her time in TNA running its course, I beg the differ. While we all may have cringed initially when she was brought in to run the Knockouts Division, she was decent in that role. She was not the best actress, but seeing a heel turn from Brooke was definitely an avenue that needed to be explored.

Nah, I’d much rather see Karen than Brooke. I’m glad with this release as it should not have happened to begin with. At least Karen worked a few matches (one with Chyna, no less). Brooke took up space and never delivered.
