WWE Main Event – 2/6/2013 Recap: The Funkadactyls (Naomi & Cameron) vs. Tamina Snuka & Aksana

On the February 6, 2013 episode of WWE Main Event, The Funkadactyls faced Tamina Snuka and Aksana in Divas Tag-Team action…
Backstage Brodus Clay was seen at the catering table, as he was approached by Aksana, who said that Naomi and Cameron were not really that good. Tamina then interrupted, saying that he needed real women like her and Aksana. Of course Naomi and Cameron then interrupted, setting up this match…
WWE Divas – February 6, 2013 Main Event: Naomi & Cameron vs. Tamina & Aksana
—The Funkadactyls made their way to the ring with Brodus Clay, but before the ladies could get in the ring, Tamina and Aksana attacked them from behind. The referee and Brodus tried to break up the fight; however, the show went to commercials. After commercials, The Funkadactyls were seen in their corner, with Cameron and Tamina starting the match. Brodus Clay joined the commentators for commentary. This match saw Cameron in peril for the most of it, with Tamina and Aksana controlling. Cameron was was able to get the hot tag to Naomi, who cleaned house. Naomi was able to hit a Leg lariat for the win…
Winner(s):The Funkadactyls
Thoughts: Great stuff here… whenever the The Funkadactyls get in the ring, it is a breath of fresh air in the Divas Division, and the star power that is Naomi always shines.
While the reason for the match was not exactly believable, it did give us the great “Kofi Kingston” line from Aksana, and Naomi certainly lived up to being a female version of Kofi out there in the ring. Cameron held her own, but Naomi is the talent that is being underutilized here. We need to see more of her in the ring while the dancing gimmick is still over with fans.
I was gonna do the recap of ME, but you beat me to it.lol.Anyways, it was great to see Naomi in action once again. I really hope that WWE will soon break Naomi away from Brodus Clay because she has alot more to offer than dancing. Cameron didn’t do too bad herself. The backstage segment was funny and good. I loved the attack from behind before the match even started as well. Aksana also had a great showing in this match. Wish we could see more of that from her on RAW and Smackdown. All in all, a great match.

LOL, sorry, that would have been awesome, it was not “Smackdown” or “Nxt,” so I was not sure.
I disagree with Naomi being separated from Brodus Clay, the gimmick is over, so why not use it?… you want her to struggle for reactions like Layla, Kaitlyn etc. I don’t see an issue with the gimmick continuing, but just being booked more in matches.

Naomi was super cool. She’s obviously incredibly strong, so massive compared to Cameron. It makes me sad that WWE may never take advantage of this woman. She obviously has skills, though I think her energy may need to be channeled a little better in the ring. But hell, I’d be excited too! If I finally got to fight.

Honestly, still not impressed with Naomi, it was all sloppy, it would be
easy to throw the blame on Aksana but nah, she was doing alright until
Naomi went in. Naomi was all over the place and again, even when
wrestling, her facial expressions, not welcoming, not likeable, I just
can’t cheer for her. Honestly, I liked Cameron more, she was spunky, she
has a likeable personality, completely different from the person i saw
on TE, her personality really shined and she kinda outshined Naomi in
the segment (which seems to be Naomi’s weakness, she just easily gets
lost in the shuffle of peprsonality because she is not good at standing
out), and Aksana, she is great Enhancement talent IMO, i don’t think
she’ll ever make it far, but i’ve seen her in the ring with more rookies
than experienced workers. She handles herself really well. She’s great
for the role of enhancement talent, kinda like wrestling the new peeps
just to see how it’s going. Because that role really suits her IMO.

I’ve always liked Aksana. I like her look, and ring presence. I think if she got better trained she’d be something special. Wont Happen though.

Late with the comment but I liked the match. I wasn’t sure what to expect from Cameron but she did well in the last match I saw her in (which was also against Aksana in FCW). Cameron seems like she’s coming along nicely, especially in the personality department. Naomi just has great ring presence, she’s exciting and energetic. I would like to see her and Layla team together because I feel they’d have some nice chemistry as a team. I’m glad Aksana seems to have shaken off the ring rust she’d been showing for a while. She had a good match on NXT with Paige a couple weeks back and she’s become a bit more consistent in general recently.
