TNA Knockouts – 01/03/2013 iMpact Results: Brooke Tessmacher & Mickie James seek revenge on Tara & Gail Kim

On the January 03 2013 edition of iMpact Wrestling Mickie James & Brooke Tessmacher looked to get a little revenge on Gail Kim and TNA Knockouts Champion Tara after suffering losses to them in the past two weeks.
TNA Knockouts iMpact tag team match: Gail Kim & Tara vs. Mickie James & Brooke Tessmacher
- After individual entrances (plus some backstage shots of all four ladies stretching as sexily as humanly possible) we get underway as Brooke Tessmacher and Gail Kim start off. Tessmacher controls the beginning of this match until Tara knees her in the back. Tara takes it to her former best friend with a stiff chop and then throws her into the ropes. Mickie James tags Tess, who slides under Tara and takes the veteran Knockouts Champion down with a snapmare, and Mickie hits an awesome running knee. Kim tries to come to her teammates aid, but gets dropkicked right back out of the ring, curtosey of hardcore country herself. Outside the ring Tara and Gail exchange words, which gives Mickie and Brooke enough time to slide out and bang the two vicious vixens heads together. However as the two southern Knockouts climb back into the ring referee Taryn Terell forces Tessmacher out onto the apron as Gail and Tara viciously assault James. Tara tries for a pin, but only gets a two count, she then forces James into a submission, but James fights out as we head to commercial break. (Boo!)
We return from break to find Mickie is still being battered by #TeamViciousVeterans (let’s get that trending on Twitter ok?) as Kim sends her into the turnbuckle. Tara tries for a clothesline, but ends up with a facefull of ring corner as Mickie takes down Gail with a clothesline of her own. Mickie gets Tessmacher tagged in, and she absolutely takes it to the champ with a series of clotheslines and a flying back elbow, before setting Tara down with a facebuster from the corner. Jesse Godderz pulls Tara outside, and while Terell’s back is turned Gail clubs Tessmacher in the back of the head. Tara recovers and rolls back in, and chokes the life out of her former friend before flinging her across the ring via her own hair! The crowd is loving it and I believe cheering “Jesse Sucks! Tara Sucks! Jesse Sucks! Tara Sucks!” as Tara gets another two count. Tara pulls Tessmacher up and throws her face first into Gail’s boot in the corner before tagging in the Canadian Knockout. Gail kicks the crap out of Tess in the corner and mocks James, leading to Hardcore Country to involve herself, but getting pushed back by Terell leading to Tessmacher getting choked out by Tara & Gail. Gail pulls Tessmacher out and lifts her into a firemans carry gutbuster and getting another close two count. Gail with a European uppercut and then a blistering flying clothesline, for yet another two count. Gail throws Tessmacher into the turnbuckle and goes for her sliding crossbody OHMYGOD Gail’s face ends up smacking into the second buckle and she slides, rather lifelessly to the outside and straight to the floor. Tessmacher almost reaches Mickie for a tag, but Gail recovers and pulls Mickie down tot he floor before sliding back in and introducing Tess’s face to the canvas in a very vicious manner (like I said #TeamViciousVeteran fits) before dragging Tessmacher over and right into a somersault legdrop from Tara. Which earns her another two count. Tara locks in a submission and just as Tessmacher goes to escape Tara yanks her down by her hair, as only a Vicious Veteran (;])would do! Tara tries for a standing Moonsault, but tessmacher gets her knees up. Tara tries to stop her from tagging in Mickie, but ends up faceplanted and both Tara and Brooke tag in their tag mates at the same time. Mickie takes Gail down with a thez press and then drop kicks Tara off the apron. A Mickie-Canranna to Gail, followed by a neckbreaker and Mickie looks to secure the win, but Tara breaks it up. Tessmacher comes flying in like a bat outta hell and destroys the Knockouts Champion with a spear. Godderz pulls Tara out of the ring, but Tessmacher doesn’t let either of them escape unscathed as she hits an absolutely beautiful diving press from THE TOP ROPE! With Tara neutralized Mickie plants Gail with a MickieDT for the one, the two and the three and the victory.
Winners: Mickie James and Brooke Tessmacher.
Thoughts: What a way to start off the new year! All four ladies delevered in what I honestly believe could be considered a very early canidate for 2013 match of the year! Except for the blip of communication that happened between Tessmacher and Tara at that turnbuckle facebuster spot there wasn’t a single sour looking spot. Gail’s fall to the outside lieterally scared the crap out of me. For those of you that don’t know I type this write up as I watch. So when I freaked when Gail smashed her face I legit had a panic attack on this side of the computer. Mickie’s DDT was honestly one of the best I’ve ever seen. Tessmacher took her beating like the PRO she is. And Tara. Oh Miss Tara. Tara showed why she belongs in Lethal WOW’s top ten. From the in-ring general she is and adding bits of character flair, like always checking to make sure Jesse is paying attention and arguing with her teammate Gail, she is one of, if not THE top of the crop in Professional Women’s Wrestling.
Everyone is always crying for more women to be used and for so and so to be the Knockouts Champion because she’s better than so and so. And This one came from the Indies so she’s better than this former model. And everyone (including myself at times) is crying for TNA to use more women, but at the same time when the four women that they consistently use turn out masterpiece matches like this, and the two matches we’ve gotten the past two weeks, can you really argue that they’re doing the wrong thing? Because in this writer’s humble opinion I can’t.
All four ladies were amazing, and this was definitely Match of the Night.

Loved this match. Mickie has really been bringing her A-game lately and the rest of the girls are stepping things up every week too. I’m surprised she’s getting another title shot since hasn’t she already had two, and it’s a bit early for her to dethrone Tara? But if it means more matches like this every week then I don’t care. The Xplosion match was really good as well

I don’t have any issues with Tara losing the belt. With her gimmick with Jesse, there’s alot for her to do, without being sidelined if she loses the belt. Didn’t see the xplosion match yet.
