Posted on Monday, October 29th, 2012

On October 28, 2012, at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, for World Wrestling Entertainment’s Hell in a Cell 2012 Pay-Per-View, Eve Torres defended the WWE Divas Champion, in a 3-Way match against Layla and Kaitlyn…

Before the match, Eve Torres was involved in a backstage segment with Booker T, Theodore Long and Zack Ryder. Fun segment, with Zack and Theodore putting down Eve with disparaging comments…

WWE Divas – Hell in a Cell 2012 Match
WWE Divas Championship
Eve Torres (c) vs. Layla vs. Kaitlyn

hell in a Cell 2012—WWE Divas Champion Eve Torres made her way to the match first, followed by former Champ Layla making her way to the ring. Kaitlyn was out next, with a video recap of the events leading up to this match. As the bell rang, Eve got a kick in on Layla, but was immediately the recipient of strikes from Kaitlyn. Layla and Kaitlyn seemed to be set on double teaming Eve, who retreated to ringside instead… this did not help, as she was clothes-lined by Kaitlyn. Back in the ring, Eve found herself in a 2-on-1 situation, but it was not long before Layla and Kaitlyn were going at each other. Eve got herself back into the match with a Reverse STO on Layla—sending her to ringside, and then got offense on Kaitlyn in the moments that followed. An aggressive Layla got back in the mix, taking the fight to Eve. The finish of this match saw all ladies going at it, with Kaitlyn hitting a springboard bulldog on Eve, and a few moments later, a powerslam on Layla. As Kaitlyn attempted a pin, Eve—who had time to recover, hit a senton off the top ropes on Kaitlyn (Too bad the senton did not really connect). She then pinned Layla for the win…

After the match, Layla and Kaitlyn had an intense argument backstage…

Thoughts: As predicted unanimously by Lethalwow.com writers in the WWE Hell in a Cell 2012 Predictions, Eve Torres retained in this match. This was a really nice match by all three. More of the same from Eve, but really great moments for Kaitlyn and Layla. Layla’s aggression was welcomed in the match, and despite being awkward at times, Kaitlyn is really defining herself by having her own style in the ring. The Divas really put in the work here, and its too bad the crowd was lukewarm. Although, the WWE did give them a horrible spot on the card. It should be interesting to see where it goes from here. Of course, most have been predicting a full-on Kaitlyn vs. Eve feud. After seeing Layla and Kaitlyn’s argument backstage, please WWE… heel turn for Layla.

match was good enough. triple threats are hard to do and thankfully this one was enjoyable. Kaitlyn hit one iffy sunset flip but the rest of the match was fine, loved the double splits spot. the ending didn’t look too good but on paper is the right call to make. as for the supposed heel turn, I vote not a good idea. Layla’s heel character has seriously run its course, I think she suits being face much more. plus her ring work is far better now than it was back when she was in LayCool. with Kelly and Gail gone and Eve heel they need a Diva who’s exciting in the ring. plus no point in her turning. Eve is the champion and the top heel so all that’ll happen is that Layla will get buried. besides that’s too obvious a direction to go in. i’d like to see Eve try and manipulate them and pit them against each other but for them ultimately to band together and Layla help Kaitlyn go after Eve

Layla has been great in the ring since her return. She was not too shabby either in LayCool. Personally… I was a huge fan of the LayCool gimmick. I was open minded with her baby face turn, which started before her injury. However, after months of her as a babyface, it has not connected to me on any level. Her promo arguing with Kaitlyn did. Her recent aggression in the ring did. Frankly, her as a babyface has not gotten over with the overall WWE universe either. -- Arron

I’m gonna have to go with Bobby here Layla has a great babyface in ring skill and i feel the crowd loves her as she has recieved lots of cheers. I feel that Eve tries to put rifts between Layla and Kaitlyn but it eventually backfires.
    Really Good Match here.
