Tara and Jessie Godderz

On the October 18, 2012 episode of Impact Wrestling, Knockouts Champion Tara was defeated by ODB…

Backstage, Mr. Pec-Tacular Jessie Godderz military-pressed newly crowned Knockouts Champion Tara (Tara becomes a 5-Time Knockouts Champ), for a photo-shoot with Lee South. It was not long before Tara and Jessie directed some insults Lee South’s way—of course with a Big Brother and TMZ reference. The two then made-out, followed by Tenay announcing ODB versus Tara coming up next…

Knockouts – October 18, 2012 Impact Wrestling Match:
Tara vs. ODB

—Knockouts Champion Tara made her way to the ring, accompanied by Jessie Godderz. ODB‘s music then hit, and she was seen backstage—on the phone with Eric Young. ODB finally came out to the arena, announced as one-half of the Knockouts Tag-Team Champions—a belt she referred to as her wedding ring. ODB left EY on the phone–leaving the phone on the ring apron, and proceeded to hit Tara with stikes—who was preoccupied with Jessie. After some offense, ODB was back on the line with EY. Jessie then got on the apron, and received a face-full of ODB’s fun-bags. The distraction gave Tara an opportunity to finally get offense in the match. After moments of dominating ODB, Jessie got on the apron once again, where he and Tara proceeded to make-out. The distracted Tara was hit from behind with a running avalanche. This time, ODB spit in the face of Jessie, as she put Tara on her shoulders. ODB then hit The Bam for the win…

Winner: ODB at 3:11

After the match, Brooke Tessmacher was seen on the ramp applauding, as Jessie consoled Tara after her loss. It was announced that on the October 25, 2012 edition of Impact Wrestling, Miss Tessmacher will get her rematch for the TNA Women’s Knockout Championship.

Thoughts: Tara has seemingly taken the role that we have seen Madison Rayne excel at in the past few year… comedy heel. And of course with ODB’s gimmick, this was not a wrestling match for wrestling purists. Tara taking a loss four days after her title win, was certainly not expected. Of course, the loss was booked as Tara being distracted by her affections for Jessie Godderz.

Alot of doors were open here. For instance, will Tara be able to focus on her match next week with Miss Tessmacher? Could Brooke become a 3-Time Knockouts Champion? After the match, Brooke seemed pretty confident that she could get the job done.

With ODB’s win, it also leaves her in line for a Knockouts Title shot. And as mentioned in the Bound for Glory 2012 Write-up, Tara and Jessie Godderz versus ODB and Eric Young seems inevitable.

I want Madison Rayne to turn face so we can see the return of Amber Lively, man I loved her. But Tara is good at comedy. I think she’s grown a bit too much as a performer to ever become the psychotic Victoria type character again. She’s always been a serious heel in TNA so I’d like to see more comedy from her since TNA know how to book that type of heel without burying them

A Wrestlicious mention, very random, lol. Actually, now would be a great opportunity for Sarita and Rosita to turn face (Reuniting with Hernandez now that he is a babyface). Which IMO would be much more useful to the Division. Which would leave room for a Mickie James heel turn.

I actually only just discovered it and now i’m addicted haha. I love Sarita as a heel but i guess now would be the perfect time to turn her. Rosita should too, someone with her moveset shouldn’t be heel. i think there’ll probably be dancing in the streets when Mickie finally goes heel

Babyface Sarita vs Heel Tara, those matches would be awesome.

Wrestlicious was covered on Lethalwow, however, personally, I just could not get into the gimmicks. Despite having quite a few talented independent workers.

well that’s my cue to start digging through the archives haha. it was kind of endearing in a So Bad It’s almost good kind of way. funny how Daizee Haze was pretty much playing herself though

Yes, Rayne as face would be lovely. @lethalwow:disqus Mickie as heel is something that I’m dying for as well; when was the last time we saw that? Her feud with Trish.

I’m okay with Tara being champ so long as they don’t immediately take the belt from her (ala Rayne; what was the point in that?). Reminds of when Trish wont the belt at Mania only to drop it like 2 weeks later.

Mickie was never really a proper heel in WWE because she still got standing ovations. It’d be great to see her getting booed by the marky TNA crowds

@67027131d2dfb754b7130b4882356040:disqus Rayne deserves a face turn maybe then i would like her as a reign of KO Champ and Amber Lively was loved i love her but can’t love Madi Rayne
