On the October 15, 2012 episode of WWE RAW, Layla cashed in her Divas Championship rematch clause against Eve

WWE Divas – October 15, 2012 RAW Match:
WWE Divas Championship
Eve vs. Layla

—The match begins with a lock-up, followed by both ladies engaging in some sort of catfight. Layla takes offense and pushes Eve, prompting Eve to do the same back. Eve hits Layla with a knee to the mid-section and follows up with some submission holds. Layla’s able to get out of the arm lock after multiple kicks to Eve’s side. Layla’s now in control with an armlock. Eve sends Layla to the outside, ending the armlock Layla had on her. Once again, the match is in Eve’s hands as she locks Layla in yet another submission hold. Layla fights back and makes a comeback! She goes for her signature crossbody, thinking she has the match one, until Eve kicks out. Eve sends Layla to the corner. Layla counters Eve with a kick to the face. Layla’s on the top rope ready to take Eve down, but Eve stops that by kicking Layla’s bad knee. Eve gets the win and retains her Divas Championship, despite Layla’s foot being on the rope.

Winner(s): Eve

Thoughts:This wasn’t my favorite Layla vs. Eve match, but it was pretty good. Layla and Eve have great chemistry in the ring, but I’d really like to see more from the two, which I’m pretty sure we will after that controversial ending to the match. There was some crowd involvement, which was nice to hear. At one point, I couldn’t tell if they were chanting “This Is Awesome” or “This Is Awful,” but from what I’ve been told, they were chanting “This Is Awesome.” I just hope they weren’t being sarcastic about it…Anyways, I really am enjoying Eve’s current reign as Divas Champion. It’s a lot better than her previous ones. I also like how WWE’s making her a strong credible champion by having her defend the title two weeks in a row. All in all, a great outing for the divas on RAW this week, and I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next, especially after Layla had her foot on the rope, but still lost.

My interpretation was… the scissors stomp (i.e Madison Rayne), with Layla’s almost wardrobe malfunction during the move = This is awesome.

The match had shaky moments, but still, loved the energy and emotion between the ladies. Really, the natural booking would be a 3-Way at the Pay-Per-View.

I really loved Layla’s aggression in this match. It’d be nice to see her exhibit more aggression with her face persona.

What a great match. Eve is slowly looking more solid in the ring since the heel turn. Layla showed some great aggression and I’m delighted that she’ll be getting another opportunity after that ending. She’s getting more spotlight now than when she had the damn title. I think this could lead to a triple threat match at Hell In A Cell or simply maybe another singles match with a different stipulation. Perhaps Kaitlyn could be the special referee?

Divas are getting better and better every week
