Impact Wrestling recap

On the October 4, 2012 episode of Impact Wrestling, Miss Tessmacher and ODB teamed up to face Tara and Gail Kim…

Backstage, Tara and her “Hollywood boyfriend” were on the phone, when Gail Kim approached her, to talk about their tag-team match. Tara suggested that she and her boyfriend  have a double-date “celebration dinner” with Gail and her significant other at Bound for Glory 2012. Gail Kim wanted to hear none of it, and said that Tara better watch her back if she wins the Knockouts Championship at Bound for Glory…

Knockouts – October 4, 2012 Impact Wrestling Match:
Tara and Gail Kim vs. Miss Tessmacher and ODB

—The team of Tara and Gail Kim made their way to the ring, followed by a recap of Tara turning on Brooke Tessmacher. Brooke’s music hit, and she made her way to the ring with one-half of the Knockouts Tag-Team Champions ODB. This match began with ODB dismantling Gail Kim, followed by a tag to Tessmacher. Tess continued the offense for her team, with a drop-kick to Kim, followed by a stinkface. Booke tagged in ODB, where Kim moved out-of-the-way of a bronco buster. Tara was tagged in, and the momentum of the match turned. Kim was tagged back in, and had ODB on defense for some time. Tara tagged herself in, where ODB was able to get her knees up, to counter Tara’s standing moonsault. Tessmacher was tagged in, and took the fight to Tara . The end saw all ladies in the ring… Kim disposed of ODB, followed by Tara shoving Gail into Brooke. This give Tara the opening to hit the Widow’s Peak in Brooke for the win …

Winner: Tara and Gail Kim at 4:49

Thoughts: There was a lot of good story telling this week by all the women involved. Tara and Gail Kim being paired up, was a great dynamic. Despite Tara going from a babyface to a rule-breaker in the last few week, we did NOT see any sudden friendship between her and Kim, which made for great interaction. With the backstage segment, the mystery of Tara’s “Hollywood boyfriend”  continued, and she yet again–as cheesy as it is—cited the name Stacy Keibler. This time, another fellow colleague was mentioned in the promo… Torrie Wilson.

Who is this mystery boyfriend? The name John Morrison has been mentioned numerous times over the internet. As he is a wrestler that can really pull off the gimmick.

The match itself, was good stuff. Especially the ending… why not use your partner as a weapon? Overall, it did its job, in building towards Bound for Glory.

I heard JoMo was re-signing with WWE. Not sure it would be him as I’m pretty certain Melina will be where ever he is (unless he signs with WWE, that is; they don’t want her).

Certainly a WWE contract is still more valuable than one in TNA. But often, wrestlers have their own reasons to prefer TNA over the WWE, whether is be less travel etc. Who knows. I suppose we are all hoping that he turns up in TNA, in which case, Melina would not be far behind.

I hope not, I can’t stand Melina, I can’t sit through her matches sadly.

What is your beef with Melina? I am on the opposite end of the spectrum… I thought releasing her from the WWE was a mistake. I would be very happy to see her return.

Wasn’t a fan of her personally, was never a fan of her wrestling either and found her a very selfish wrestler, when she’s in the spotlight, she was almost golden (you have no idea how hard it was to say that), when she wasn’t, she dragged everyone she worked with with her. Just a personal dislike I guess, never personally liked her, she rubbed me the wrong way and i guess i can’t see beyond that lol.

i went sour on Melina after she returned from her ACL injury and she didn’t have the same spark in the ring but I’ve grown to miss her in WWE. She always made an effort to make every match seem unique and made herself unpredictable and exciting in the ring. Plus she was excellent both as a heel and a face

Nah, i found her matches to be to choreographed and again, mostly made herself look good, her opponents most time never came out looking credible after a match with her but still it just stems down to personal dislike, I could sometimes look pass the personal dislike, but with melina for some reason I can’t. Throughout her entire WWE career, i think I liked three maybe for of her matches and it all came down to because i preferred the opponent or liked the opponents performance in the match, not because of her. But i never found her to be this great wrestler, she was good, but that’s about it, just good.

i actually wouldn’t mind seeing Jo Mo as the boyfriend but i bet Melina would come back fast and take Jo Mo back i love her and Tara and Melina could have some good matches between eachother and the winner could be Jo Mo’s girlfriends it would be Tara (Heel) vs Melina (Face) and i say Melina comes out on top and Jo Mo turns face i love Melina and i think she is an amazing wrestler

  • Paul

I think everyone is being to critical of Melina she was an amazing wrestler and i loved that she had a personality unlike some Divas this year who change from face to heel in a week yeah i’m looking at you Alicia Fox. I wanna see Melina back in WWE or for her to join TNA
