On the September 28, 2012 episode of WWE Superstars, Layla defeated Eve in one-on-one action, and on the september 28, 2012 episode of WWE Smackdown, Beth Phoenix picked up a win over Natalya

WWE Divas – September 28, 2012 Superstars Match:
Layla vs. Eve

—The match starts off with a nice lock-up between both ladies. Layla controlled ost of the match, until Eve sent her outside the ring. As Layla is climbing back into the ring, Eve’s about to nail a spear to the outside, but Layla moves out the way and nails Eve with a nice kick. Both ladies are in the ring again, and Layla takes control of the match once again. She goes for her signature crossbody from the turnbuckle, but Eve stops her with a kick to the back of Layla’s knee. Eve’s now in control and locks Layla into a submission hold. Eve attempts to nail her moonsault, but Layla moves out of the way. As Eve is getting up, Layla gives her a roundhouse kick and pins her for the win.

Winner(s): Layla

Thoughts: Pretty decent match between the two. The match was given a decent amount of time as well. I was kind of surprised that the fans weren’t into this match, considering both ladies put on a great match. I truly do hope WWE can get the fans behind diva matches like they did in the past. All in all, a great divas match, but a terrible crowd.

On Smackdown, a divas dream match finally took place, as Beth Phoenix took on Natalya

WWE Divas – September 28, 2012 Smackdown Match:
Beth Phoenix vs. Natalya

—Before the match starts, we’re shown a TOUT Eve sent out, regarding the new information about who attacked Kaitlyn at Night Of Champions. The bell rings, and both ladies shake hands. They lock up and follow it up with some nice technical holds and takedowns. Natalya pushes Beth from behind. Beth gets in Natalya’s face and pushes her with her finger. Natalya takes exception to this and slaps Beth in the face. Beth retaliates and takes Natalya down and gives it to her. Beth goes to the top rope and attempts a dropkick, but Natalya counters and locks Beth into the sharpshooter. Beth is able to get to the ropes, thus stopping the sharpshooter. Natalya goes for a wheelbarrow, but Beth catches her, and hits her with the Glam Slam. Natalya surprisingly kicks out. Beth climbs the turbuckle and attempts to roll Natalya up, but Natalya stops that and has Beth pinned. Beth reverses, and pins Natalya for the win.

Winner(s): Beth Phoenix

After the match, Eve comes out and apologizes for acting too quick on RAW. She then says that until they know who attacked Kaitlyn, Beth is suspended indefinitely. Beth is shocked, and drags Natalya into it by saying she has blonde hair too. Both Beth and Natalya are now arguing about the accusations.

—Backstage, Beth confronts Booker T about Eve suspending her. As a result, Booker reverses Eve’s decision. Eve goes on to apologize to Beth and Booker for making that decision and accuses Teddy Long for her making that decision. *segment’s in same video as the match*

Thoughts: This match is the BEST divas match we’ve seen this year thus far. This match definitely did not disappoint. The fans were behind both ladies, especially Beth since they were in her hometown. Theses two definitely put on a great match, but it left me wanting to see more from the two. I do wish it was given just a little more time, but with the time given, they didn’t fail to impress me. I also love the storyline continuation with the whole “Who Attacked Kaitlyn?” thing. Eve once again did well with playing the victim by blaming Teddy for her making that decision. All in all, a great night for the divas on Smackdown. We FINALLY got to see our dream match, and there was more storyline progression.

I wouldn’t say it was the best Divas match all year, but it was great none-the-less. Natalya kicking out of the Glam Slam definitely made me do a double take. Great first match for the two, hopefully, we will see the two in a Pay-per-view match in the future.

Definitely.I really don’t want Beth to leave, but based off of what’s been reported, sounds like the news is true.I honestly got a little emotional while watching the match because it was a dream come true.Plus, after seeing the match,I really don’t want Beth to leave because she’s one of the greatest, and it’d be so nice to see more from her and Natalya.

Yay, Beth as a face again, I love it. Brilliant match. It was short but they made it feel exciting. Good storyline continuation and with Kelly Kelly out of WWE I’m expecting Natalya to be revealed as the mystery attacker…unless Eve is going to blame it on Teddy Long wearing a wig
the Superstars match was quite good and on par with their great Night of Champions match, sans the ending. I wish Layla would stop winning her matches with such weak moves. The Layout is a perfectly acceptable finisher but personally I think a roll-up or “surprise” victory would be better since she did pin the Divas’ Champion clean
