—WWE.com has reported that WWE has released Kelly Kelly (Profile & Pictures). WWE.com release the following statement regarding her release:
WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Diva Kelly Kelly as of today, September 28, 2012. WWE wishes Kelly Kelly the best in all her future endeavors.
Kelly Kelly has made the following statement regarding her release via Twitter:
Had an amazing 6 years with wwe made great friends and have the most loyal and amazing fans in the world thanks for the never ending support
Kelly Kelly made her debut in WWE on June 13, 2006 on the ECW brand as an exhibitionist. In 2008, she was moved to RAW, where she featured as a wrestler. In 2009, Kelly received her first championship opportunity when she face Maryse in a losing effort for the Divas Championship. In 2010, she was drafted to Smackdown, where she feuded with LayCool. While on Smackdown, she received her first Women’s Championship match when she faced Layla at Money In The Bank in a losing effort. Kelly was moved back to RAW in 2011. On the June 20, 2012 episode of RAW, Kelly Kelly defeated Brie Bella for the Divas Championship after being voted by the fans to face her for the title. Throughout 2011, Kelly feuded with Beth Phoenix and later dropped the Divas Championship to Phoenix at Hell In A Cell. Although she didn’t end 2011 as Divas Champion, Kelly did win the Slammy Award for Diva Moment of the Year. Kelly’s last high-profile match took place at Wrestlemania 28, where she teamed with Maria Menounos in a winning effort against Eve Torres and Beth Phoenix. Kelly Kelly had been sporadically used this year due to taking a break and pursuing other opportunities. She made her final appearance for WWE at SummerSlam dancing alongside other divas to Kevin Rudolf’s “Don’t Give Up.”
