WWE Divas – August 27, 2012 Raw Match:
Layla vs. Natalya

—Natalya was seen standing on the ropes, followed by WWE Divas Champion Layla making her way to the ring. A video recap of Kaitlyn becoming the #1 contender for the Divas Championship was then played. Vickie Guerrero then made her way down the ramp, saying that the match needed to be done with quickly, so she could make an important announcement. Vickie Guerrero remained on the apron for the entire match, being very impatient. Layla was able to pick up the win in the match, with a kick to the head of Natalya…

After the match, Vickie Guerrero got in the ring, telling Layla to “be gone.” (Really?… What kind of Champion does not smack Vickie Guerrero on her ass for that sort of disrespect). Vickie then went on to have some choice words for AJ, who came skipping down to the ring. AJ slapped Vickie, and the two got in a scuffle. Vickie Guerrero was able to escape the ring, and run backstage.

Thoughts: Like on WWE Superstars (August 2, 2012 Superstars Results), Layla and Natalya worked great together. Both women did a good job for the short time they were given. It was also nice to see the baseballs slide into the apron spot once again from the two.

However, Vickie Guerrero’s booking during the match was horrible. This was the sort of disrespect for the Divas Division that we have not seen since NXT season 3. The Vickie/AJ interaction could have happened in a completely different segment, without down playing the Divas working in the ring, by have Vickie stand on the apron rolling her eyes.

Despite this, Vickie Guerrero was gold on the mic as always, and AJ continued to be her lovable psycho self. Could a feud be brewing for the two most-over women in the WWE?
