I would say that the rank was based on the “Most-Over” WWE Divas in WWE Raw History, not so much of the factors you mention. So Trish would not be #1. Though some of those factors, like “Play your character,” cutting a promo etc. do contribute to popularity. So if we had a rank for the best Divas at promos, or gimmicks, best Champion, etc. the ranks would be different.
And I strongly disagree with, “The Women’s champ didn’t mean so much until she had it.”

Great List! But it would be 1. Trish Stratus, 2. Lita, and then so on. Chanting names isn’t the only contribution to wrestling. Its how well you sell a promo, sell merchandise, Play your character, and how well you wrestle. Still loads more to contribute but by far I think Trish should be number one because she really made the women’s champion worth the gold piece it was. The Women’s champ didn’t mean so much until she had it. The way she fought for it and lets not forget all the most memorable matches for the women’s belt was because of her. Look at all her matches for the belt. She made it worth hell of alot more to fight for. Trish also progressed so much in the ring its unbelievable. Lita was awesome too, People always chanted her name and it felt so epic when she came down to the ring. But Lita can’t seem to cut a promo as well as the other divas. She did better at cutting promo’s when Trish turned on Jericho and became heel. But before that she just couldn’t do it as well. Still both women are awesome and I love them both!

Totally, it was a tough and close call. But after hours of footage, and who had the most impact outside of the wwe at the time, in terms of interviews, appearances etc. I made the call in the way things were ranked.

no problems with the people on the list… but i feel that it should have been lita in the #1 spot or #2 she along with sable were the 2 women that had crowds on their feet whenever they hit that ramp… like sable litas chants definitely rivaled most of the men in the company… lets not forget it was lita who was used to finally get stone cold hated as a heel rather than a face…

i have no problem with the list, but i dont think the order is right. 1. lita 2. trish 3. sable 4. chyna 5. sunny.
lita was by far the most loved and hated diva in her run at different times. of all the women in wwe, lita was the one that women wanted to be like more than any other. everyone liked her as a face and booed her as a heel. if sh was only treated better she would still be making bug money for them, as she sells magazines and dvds, no doubt.
