On the May 31, 2012 edition of iMpact Brooke Hogan debuted on the first live iMpact of the summer, and on the June 7, 2012 edition of iMpact Brooke Tessmacher, Tara, Mickie James & Velvet Sky competed for a chance to face Gail Kim at Slammiversary. Also with a couple added xPlosion matches featuring Velvet Sky vs. Angelina Love and Angelina Love facing half of the Knockouts Tag Team Champions ODB.
March 31, 2012 iMpact Wrestling: Out comes Dixie Carter and she talks about how far TNA has come in the past 10 years and how at the Slammiversary PPV she will be inducting the first Class of the TNA Hall of Fame. She then talks about iMpact going live..for the summer. (?) And how there has been a major factor in why TNA has been so successful the past couple years: The TNA Knockouts. She says that she wants the women to be better and better and that she needs someone who can give the ladies her undivided attention and has choosen someone from inside a wrestling family: Brooke Hogan. Brooke comes out and thanks the fans, and Dixie and her father and says how she can’t wait to start working with the ladies and how she has some large yellow boots to fill. (Insert Eye Roll). And with that Dixie and Brooke go back to the back.
June 7, 2012 Edition of iMpact Wrestling: We head backstage to find Brooke Hogan introducing herself to Mickie James, Velvet Sky, Tara and Miss/Brooke Tessmacher and she talks about how awesome they are in the ring and how she’s ready to watch them go kick but and that she’s made their match tonight for a shot against Knockouts Champion Gail Kim at Slammiversary. She then tells them how she plans to get the Knockouts more involved in mainstream media and to start that she has chosen Velvet Sky to be in Country band Montgomery Gentry’s new music video. While everyone else congratulates her, Mickie gives both Brooke and Velvet the biggest Stank Face EVER! I’m not gonna lie: I totally laughed!
TNA Knockouts – June 7, 2012 iMpact Match: Mickie James vs. Velvet Sky vs. Brooke Tessmacher vs. Tara
- The four ladies circle up each other and T-N-T take it to Hardcore Pigeons, but H.P. give as good as they get and in the first few seconds this match has already broken down with some nice stiff shots from each lady. TNT team up to take down Mickie and then Velvet, before Mickie takes Tara out of the ring. Mickie and Velvet face off as the longest reigning Knockouts Champion Gail Kim comes out to scout her opponents. As we go to commercial break Mickie tries to roll up Velvet for a two count. We come back from break and Kim is now in the Broadcast booth, calling the match with Tenay and Taz, while Mickie goes for a MickDT, but gets rolled up from behind by Miss Brooke Tessmacher, for a close two count. Mickie and Brooke exchange moves and Brooke throws Mickie into the corner and goes for her Monkey Flip Facebuster, but Mickie pushes her off and hits an EPIC Enziguri. James gets a two count, Mickie argues with the ref and pulls Brooke up by her hair, but Brooke hits a Kneeling Jawbreaker into a nice Twisting Neckbreaker, which she rolls through and goes for a pin, but Velvet runs in and…well…I’m not sure what Velvet did. But Brooke falls back and Velvet stomps on her and then throws her off the ropes and then through the ropes to the outside. Tara then slides intot he ring and rolls Velvet up for another close two count. Tara controls Velvet as Gail continues to talk down each of the girls and go on and on about how she’s beaten all of them and she’s the best Champion TNA has ever had. Tara hits a Snap Suplex and rolls through for another close two count. Tara then locks in a Boston Crab on Sky, which prompts James to lock in a Dragon Sleeper on Tara, and leads to Tessamcher to lock in a Side Headlock on James. After the submission party breaks up Mickie throws Brooke to the outside, as Velvet kicks Tara through the ropes. Velvet and Mickie face off, and after her new patented Gut Kick-Chop combo Velvet takes Mickie down with a sloppy Headscissors, but then gets flattened with a Flap Jack. Tara comes back in and throws Mickie out over the top rope and goes for a Moonsault, but misses. Tessmacher comes in as Velvet rolls out and challenges Tara. She screams for Tara to “Hit me” and the two tag team members square off. In the end though Tara lays Tessmacher out with a Spiders Web Side Slam. Velvet then comes in and hits Tara with a HUGE DDT while she’s shimming. Velvet then turns into a diving Thez Press from Mickie James. James then lays Sky down with a Mick Kick, but then wastes times staring down Sky, which gives Tessmacher the oppurtunity to, sloppily, hit her TesShocker lifting Facebuster for the three count and another shot at Gail Kim and her Knockouts Championship.
Winner: Brooke Tessmacher at 6:34
Thoughts: Except for some sloppy moves towards the end of the match this was a really good match. All four women got to work and really showed why TNA continues to have the best women’s division in Mainstream Professional wrestling. I think it’s interesting that TNA went with Brooke Tessmacher to face Gail, but it should be a great match none the less. In other news: It appears a Heel turn is in the works for Mickie James. From the backstage segment to the overt aggressiveness, all aimed at Velvet Sky I might add, during the match it could very well work, and work very well indeed it would! Fans have cried and pleaded and begged for a Heel Mickie again for the past few years. And who better to turn her against then TNA’s golden girl Velvet? Now for Brooke Hogan: Please continue to have matches like this each week. Let the ladies show you, and the rest of the wrestling world why they have been praised and praised and praised. Do not try to get in the ring. PLEASE! We’ve already had Karen Jarret, and Sharmel and Jenna Whatever-Her-Last-Name-Was get involved in matches and really bring them down.
