Divas– February 3, 2012 Smackdown Match: Divas Tag Team Match Tamina & Aksana vs The Divas of Doom
-First off we have a super awkward backstage segment including The Divas of Doom.
-We return from a commercial break to find Tamina is already in the ring as Aksana comes out to her usual porn movie theme followed by The Divas of Doom. Nice, quick, stiff match that sees Divas champion Phoenix pin the Lithuanian beauty after a thunderous Glam Slam.
-Post match: After a stare down between the DOD Phoenix exits the ring while Nattie tries to add insult to injury by Sharpshooting the NXT Season Three rookie, only to yet again get taken out from a Super Kick and Superfly Splash.
Thoughts: I’m ignoring the backstage segment as I really don’t want to loose my cool on a write up. Sooo onto the match. It is what it is. The WWE is trying to re-build up Phoenix as a dominant fighting champion she should have been all along, so I don’t mind the short squash matches. I’m hoping they’re trying to build up tension between Phoenix & Natalya for a big Wrestlemania Match, though as the last years WM match showed: Just because you’re Divas Champ doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed a match on the “Grandest Stage of them All”.

Honestly, Beth’s push as the most dominant force in the Divas Division is a bit superficial. She certainly has not been booked that way in the past 8 months, and we’re suppose to sweep it under the rug? I don’t think the majority of WWE fans won’t buy it either.
As for a Natalya, what a shame, the WWE should have been building a Natalya vs Beth feud at Wrestlemania, instead the turn her into a comedy act.
