This Year, Madison Rayne moves up from #17 to #3 on Lethalwow.com’s annual Top 25 Ranking. 2010 saw Madison Rayne on Top the Knockouts Division—becoming a 3-Time Women’s Champion, Tag Team Champion, and forming an unlikely alliance with Tara. Her alliance with Tara lands them at #3 on Lethalwow.com’s annual Tag Team Top 10 Ranking.
Madison Rayne began 2010 as a member of “The Beautiful People” (Velvet Sky, Madison and Lacey Von Erich), feuding against original Beautiful People member Angelina Love. Tara often aligned herself with Angelina in her feud against the Beautiful People, and March 8, 2010 on TNA iMPACT!, Madison Rayne and Velvet Sky won the vacant TNA Knockout Tag Team titles in a match that pitted them agaisnt Sarita & Taylor Wilde, and Angelina Love & Tara. It was later recognized that all 3 Beautiful People members could defend the tag belts under freebird rule.
The feud led up to April 18, 2010 at TNA Lockdown in a steel cage tag match, where all titles were put on the line. Tag Team Champions The Beautiful People vs. Tara & Angelina Love (TNA Knockouts Champion). The end result saw Madison Rayne walk away as TNA Knockouts Champ. Tara was set on making Madison’s reign a short one, and on May 16, 2010 at TNA Sacrifice Madison Rayne successfully defended her title against Tara. The stipulation of the match was Career vs. Title, which forced Tara to “retire.” A few days later, on the May 20, 2010 episode TNA iMPACT, Roxxi—returning from injury, defeated Madison Rayne in a Non-title match. This led to to her getting a title shot on June 13, 2010 at TNA Slammiversary. Before the match, Madison challenged Roxxi to an impromptu Career vs. Title match. To the dismay of many fans, Madison won the match, causing fan favorite Roxxi to be gone from TNA once again.
Next on Madison’s list was retiring Angelina Love from TNA. This not go as planned, and on July 11, 2010 at TNA Victory Road in a Title-vs-Career match, Angelina Love defeated Madison to win the belt. Before accepting the match, Angelina added her own stipulation, that if any Beautiful People member interfered, she would be awarded the title. A mask motorcyclist interfered, causing Angelina to be awarded the title. Due to the motorcyclist not being Velvet or Lacey, Angelina was later stripped of the title. Madison was awarded the championship on the July 22, 2010 episode of TNA iMPACT, making her a 2-Time Knockouts Champion. She later lost the title to Angelina Love on the August 12, 2010 episode of Impact.
Madison’s association with the mystery mask motorcyclist caused tension between herself and Velvet Sky. This eventually led to Angelina Love and Velvet Sky reuniting. The mystery motorcyclist/biker was later revealed as Tara, and on the October 7, 2010 edition of TNA iMPACT, Angelina Love & Velvet Sky defeated Madison Rayne & Tara for the rights to “The Beautiful People” name. After the match, Mickie James made her return to TNA Wrestling. She was announced as the special guest referee at Bound for Glory, in a match that she saw Angelina Love defend her title against Madison Rayne, Tara, and Velvet Sky. During the match, things did not go as planned between Madison and Tara, as Tara unintentionally pinned Velvet Sky to become a 4-Time TNA Women’s Knockout Champion. This did not sit well with Madison Rayne, and on the October 14, 2010 episode of TNA iMPACT, Tara let Madison Rayne pin her to win the belt. Tara’s loyalty to Madison Rayne for bringing her back to TNA saw her serve as Madison’s special enforcer/bodyguard for the rest of the year.
