Top 25 Ranking of 2010 – #4:
Mickie James

Ranked #7 in 2009
Ranked #4 in 2008

This Year, Mickie James moves up from #7 to #4 on Lethalwow.com’s annual Top 25 Ranking….

Mickie James began 2010 as the WWE’s top female babyface, in the midst of a heated feud against Lay-Cool (Layla and Michelle McCool). This led to January 31, 2010 at the Royal Rumble where Mickie James defeated Michelle McCool in just seconds to win the WWE Women’s Championship. Michelle McCool later regained the belt on the February 26, 2010 episode of WWE SmackDown. Mickie went on to participate in a 10-Diva Tag Team Match at WrestleMania 26, and wrestle numerous matches up until her WWE release on April 22, 2010.

Her release was followed by rumors that the WWE was not happy with her pursuing a career in country music. Mickie was not phased, and began wrestling for numerous promotions on the independent circuit. Her opponents included Mia Yim, ODB, Amber O’Neal, and wrestling Mercedes Martinez for the WSU Championship.

On the October 7 episode of TNA Impact!, Mickie James made her return to TNA Wrestling. She was announced as the special guest referee at Bound for Glory (October 10, 2010), in a 4-Way match with TNA Knockout Women’s Champion Angelina Love, Tara, Madison Rayne and Velvet Sky. During the match, Tara unintentionally pinned Velvet Sky to become a 4-Time TNA Knockouts Champion. This did not please Tara’s tag team partner—Madison Rayne, and on the October 14, 2010 episode of TNA iMPACT Tara let Madison Rayne pin her to regain the belt. Tara’s display of loyalty to Madison Rayne did not sit well with Mickie James, and a feud between Tara and Mickie James commenced.

Upon Mickie’s first few weeks back in TNA, the tone of the division changed for the better, with Mickie and Tara’s rivalry arguably reaching Gail Kim vs. Awesome Kong heights. The women fought to a Double disqualification on November 7, 2010 at TNA Turning Point. Mickie was later defeated by Tara on December 5, 2010 at TNA Final Resolution in a Falls Count Anywhere match. The score was settled on the December 9, 2010 episode of Impact, when the ladies main evented the show in a steal cage match. Mickie picked up the win after a breath taking Thesz press from the top of the cage. She then ended the year competing in the Knockouts Tag Team Titles tournament, and setting her sights on TNA Knockouts Champion Madison Rayne.

Tag Team Top 10 of 2010 – #4:
The Belle Saints
Marti Belle & Tina San Antonio

—This year on Lethalwow’s yearly “Tag Team Top 10,” Marti Belle & Tina San Antonio are ranked at #4…

2010 was an incredible year for The Belle Saints, as they became recognizable names on the independent circuit on the Northeast. The self-professed “Frenemies,” who often battled against each other in their home promotion Johnny Rodz’ World of Unpredictable Wrestling (WUW), made their WSU debut on March 6, 2010 for WSU’s 3rd anniversary show, where they were defeated by The Boston Shore (Amber & Lexxus). The loss was a small setback, and the ladies went on to become mainstays in WSU, competing in WSU’s J-Cup Tournament, King & Queen Tournament, Uncensored Rumble, and numerous shows.

On August 6, 2010, Tina San Antonio defeated one-half of the WSU Tag Team Champs Cindy Rogers, which made The Belle Saints the #1 contenders for the tag belts. On November 6, 2010 on iPPV, Tina San Antonio and Marti Belle defeated Cindy Rogers & Jana to win the WSU Tag Team titles (DVD Review: WSU Breaking Barriers/iPPV Debut).

The Belle Saints went on the successfully defend the belts against Jennifer Cruz & Monique, and Jamilia Craft & Jennifer Cruz.
