On the December 9, 2010 edition of TNA Impact, Tara and Mickie James made history!, battling in a hard-fought Steal Cage match. Also on the show was Sarita & Daffney vs. Angelina Love & Velvet Sky in a TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship Tournament match.

Early on Impact, a clip of Hamada and Taylor Wilde was shown—announcing that they were stripped of the TNA Knockout Tag Team championship. It was noted that Hamada had visa issues, and was unable to defend the title. In actuality, Hamada has been released from TNA, and Taylor Wilde has been rumored to has parted ways as well. Because of this, a Four Team Tournament was set. With the first match being Sarita & Daffney vs. Angelina Love & Velvet Sky.

Backstage, Tara was seen with Generation Me, ripping their shirts off as she prepared them to be her backup dancers…

Jeremy Borash introduced Tara for her performance of her theme song. This was basically Tara making fun of Mickie James performing her theme song on the December 2 edition of Impact (December 2, 2010 Impact Recap).

Mickie James attacked Tara during the performing; however, she was restrained by Generation Me, so Tara could get some cheap shots in. After Eric Young made the save—attacking Generation Me, Tara nd Mickie brawled—rolling all the way down to the ring. Security was on hand to separate the ladies, as we’ve seen in the past. Mickie James proceeded to get on the microphone, challenging Tara to a Steel Cage match.

Thoughts: This was great all around. Very nice writing, and great job by Mickie James, Tara, and Generation Me as well. Their brawls have been throughly enjoyable.

Backstage, Angelina Love and Velvet Sky were seen in the Knockouts dressing room, preparing for their TNA Knockout Tag Team Tournament match. Winter (Who Velvet can finally see), came in and wished Angelina luck in her match. Velvet Sky was not to happy about their interaction…

Later in their match…

TNA Knockouts – December 9, 2010 Impact Match:
TNA Knockout Tag Team Championship Tournament
Angelina Love & Velvet Sky vs. Daffney & Sarita

—Sarita and Daffney made their way to the ring first. Angelina Love and Daffney were out to the ring next. Before the match, Sarita got on the microphone, taunting Velvet about pinning her twice.

Sarita’s taunting really got Velvet Sky fired up, who worked the majority of this match against Sarita and Daffney. The finish of the match saw Angelina Love get the hot tag, and pin Daffney after hitting her Lights Out finisher.

Winner(s): Angelina Love & Velvet Sky

After the match, Sarita got on the microphone again calling Velvet a loser, stating that she still hasn’t beaten her.

Thoughts: The outcome of the match was to be expected, and it was great to see the rivalry between Sarita and Velvet rekindled. There is so much debt, and possible ways to go with every individual Knockout right now. Although this was a forgettable match, is worked as far as storyline progression. Despite constant negative comments on Velvet’s ring work by the IWC, it is great to see her get some shine.

And seriously TNA… book Daffney as a babyface.

Main Event: Cage Match
Tara vs. Mickie James

—”Hardcore Country!”… Mickie James was out first for the match–going into the cage, followed by Tara riding in the arena on her motorcycle. Tara attempted to slam the cage gate into Mickie; however she backed off. Mickie went after Tara outside the cage, and the ladies brawled a bit before taking the match to the inside of the cage…

The finish of this match saw Mickie James hit a Thesz press from the top of the steal cage on to Tara for the pin.

Winner(s): Mickie James

Thoughts: Congratulations to Mickie James and Tara on their huge accomplishment… Main Eventing in a Cage match. These two women have worked extremely hard to accomplish this, and represented many female wrestler that will never have that opportunity. These two put their bodies on the line, and their should be no negative comments associated with the performance they put on.

Mickie James and Tara have certainly brought the TNA Knockouts Division out of tough times. This is a feud that can only be compared to that of Gail Kim vs. Awesome Kong.
