On the June 21, 2010 edition of Raw, Natalya faced off against Tamina. Also on Raw, was WWE Divas Champion Alicia Fox and Eve involved in mixed tag team action.
WWE Divas – June 21, 2010 Raw Match: Natalya vs. Tamina
—Before the match, The Hart Dynasty cut a backstage promo, with harsh words to the Season one NXT wrestlers—Right away, it was clear that the NXT wrestlers would get involved in the match. Despite mixing it up in 6-man tag team action at WWE Fatal 4-Way, Natalya vs. Tamina seemed too soon, so it was evident that this was going to end in a No Contest.
The Hart Dynasty made their way to the ring first, followed by Tamina and The Usos. Tamina went right after Natalya with a kick to the stomach, followed by going to work on her in the corner. Holy head butt!… when do we see that from women?—and this was believable. Natalya made a short comeback with a clothesline; however, Tamina regained control after Natalya was distracted by The Usos at ringside. What followed was Natalya fighting out of a Samoan drop, followed by a sharp shooter attempt. The match then ended abruptly when the Season One NXT wrestlers made their way to the ring.
Winner(s):No Contest at 1:14 when the NXT wrestlers interrupted the match.
Thoughts: This was Women’s Wrestling, despite Tamina’s short time as a wrestler, she has in-ring presence that we will never see looking at the likes of Kelly Kelly, Eve, Tiffany etc. And despite women like Maryse and Alicia Fox having very entertaining personalities, they will still come off as models, no matter how great they get in the ring.
Natalya of course, a veteran among the Women in the WWE, is phenomenal to look at. No flashy hurricanranas needed here, just hard hitting action, and when with physical presence to be believable.
WWE Divas – June 21, 2010 Raw Match: The Great Khali & Eve vs. Primo & Divas Champion Alicia Fox
—The Great Khali and Eve where out to the ring first, followed by Primo & Divas Champion Alicia Fox. This was basically Eve vs. Alicia, with Eve dominating. After Alicia Fox left the match and made her way up the ramp, The Great Khali made short work of Primo.
Winner(s):The Great Khali & Eve at 3:57
Thoughts: Was the booking around the Divas title suppose to change because Alicia won the belt? Sorry for those with false hope that anything would change within 24 hours. In any case, this was a good night for Eve, who is getting better with her execution.
Haters can hate but give the girl her credit, she was good out there against Alicia (I wonder why! zomg because she wasn’t facing Maryse!)
Hate random mix tag matches especially with jobbers like Santino/Khali or Primo but thank god the ladies had more ring time. Loved the moonsault once again and that kick Eve did to Fox in the corner was wicked!
Speaking of wicked, Fox’s knee move looked BRUTAL! Both girls were protected and that’s good.
Eve was way to happy though, erm hello ya just lost your gold erm silver!!!!
I seriously hate Alicia’s outfit, that black outfit makes her look gross!
Nattie and Tamina <3 that’s all, Tamina needs new attire though!
Maryse and Teddy? I APPROVE! He needed someone because he was getting dull and Ryse fits the bill, keep her ass out of the ring WWE and my love will return <3
Eve was definitely much better with her execution last night.
The Knee was nice, but Tamina’s headbutt outshined anything I saw between the matches. And Tamina’s attire is awesome…. she is very anti-Diva, as with Natalya, so I’ve been enjoying them throughly.
Am loving Tamina and Natalya. It has been too long since Natalyas had a good feud and I’m so glad it’s with Tamina not Kelly or someone like that. The minute or so of the match was great and can’t wait until a proper one on one.
Alcia and Eve wasn’t too bad and if this is the next title feud I think it’ll be much better than Maryse and Eve. Eve really needs to work on bringing more aggression to her work. Great idea to have Maryse as a manager. She really isn’t needed in the ring right now but is too over not to use. Dibiase could do with the help
Yes, brilliant idea of pairing Maryse and Ted. It works out for everyone b/c it gets Maryse out of the ring and out of the division to let A.Fox shine while allowing Maryse do what she does best and giving Ted more exposure.
I’m not sure how I feel about Alicia vs. Eve, while I’m happy to see Maryse gone, however neither Eve nor Alicia are really over with the crowd. I thought it was pretty apparent last nite b/c that had to be one of the deadest reactions to a televised Divas match I’ve heard and the crowd was pretty vocal throughout the rest of the show.
The executions during the match were good, but I thought the pacing was too slow. Besides that, I really hope they do something to rev this feud up b/c it needs some juice.
And poor Primo. I hope he doesn’t end up being Chavo 2.0.
Good night for the ladies. This had to be one of Eve’s best showings. I thought she looked really inexperienced in the 4 way PPV match but redeemed herself here. Still glad she doesn’t have the strap anymore but I’m enjoying here. Alicia was good, as usual, bumped hard, sold well…sick knee to the face, hope she brings her other kicks back but also keeps that. Say what you want but I dig Alicia as champ, she’s got a lot of talent and all the potential in the world. I don’t see Eve vs Alicia going too far though. I’m pretty sure we’ll see Alicia run threw Eve fairly quickly and then move into a program with Gail and or Maryse.
Tamina vs Natalya was solid but short. Tamina has raw talent…you can tell she’s a rookie every so often but her execution and bumping is one the level of someone far more experienced. It’s gonna be awesome to see how she develops. Natalya is gold and it’s nice to see her in another program. Can someone please tell me what the eff is going on with these rookies? I havent kept up much, I know ECW folded but whats going on?
I want more Tamina vs Natalya and want more Alicia vs Eve. These are new and fresh. More than likely the writers will fuc K up but we will have to wait and see. Im also glad Maryse is with Ted. She is out of the way and Alicia can do her thing. Its quite obvious Maryse has "peaked" her wrestling game. She never does anything new so im bored of her. Hopefully Gail can fude with Alicia after Eve. Im really seeing Melina return to SD to even out that mess over there. Raw is pretty much stacked right now.
