On December 13, 2009, the WWE Women’s Championship was on the line at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs. Mickie James challenged Michelle McCool, in a match that crossed the 7minute mark.

WWE Women’s Championship:
Michelle McCool (c) vs. Mickie James

Mickie James made her way to the ring first, followed by Michelle McCool, who was accompanied by Layla. The match began with Michelle retreating to the outside of the ring. The ladies then tied up upon her return, which spilled to the outside of the ring. Back in the ring, Mickie got a few near falls on McCool. Michelle was able to get the upper hand after countering a crucifix attempt by driving Mickie back-first into a corner of the ring. McCool then preceded to dominate the match with consistent work on Mickie’s back. Michelle took it to the outside, driving Mickie into the ringside barrier in hopes of a count-out…Mickie turned the match in her favor with a barrier assisted headscissors takedown followed a lou thesz press at ringside. Back in the ring, Mickie got another lou thesz press and the match looked to be hers as she was on an offensive roll.

The finish came with an attempted interference by Layla, who instead was on the receiving end of a vicious boot by Michelle. Mickie took advantage of the miscue and rolled up Michelle (which was the biggest pop of the match). Michelle kicked out, and followed with a big boot out of no where for the win.
