RAW RESULTS: Melina vs. Alicia Fox at Madison Square Garden in a Lumberjack Match, Natalya’s Survivor Series Dream Team
Posted on Tuesday, November 17th, 2009 by Arron Carlton
If you were expecting Melina vs. Alicia for the Divas title at Madison Square Garden to be a spectacular bout, you overestimated the WWE as far as the Raw Divas are concerned. When the WWE began having separate brands, Raw was the home of the WWE Women’s title, and their prominent show for Women’s Wrestling action. How the times have change…
On this week’s edition of Raw, Melina successfully defended her title against Alicia Fox. Melina picked up the win after hitting her sunset flip powerbomb in a very short match.
The entrances were done by special guest ring announcer; Judah Friedlander (30 Rock), who immediately devalued the match with his presence. His second purpose was to reveal the match was a lumberjack match. All the other divas involved in Sunday’s Survivor Series match made their way to ringside. After the match, all the divas on opposing teams brawled, with the babyfaces getting the upper hand.
The match served it’s purpose as promotion for the Survivor Series Divas elimination match, though disappointing as a match itself.
—In a special “Survivor Series Dream Teams” feature on WWE.com Natalya weighed in on her dream team to be on…
“I’d pick Trish Stratus…I think that she brings everything to the ring as far as strength, beauty, power, grace and poise. And I’d pick the person I respect the most as far as females today — Beth Phoenix.”
“Then I’d pick Sensational Sherri, because she has so much charimsa, so much energy. Plus, she has a couple of extra things up her sleeve.”
“And I’d pick Manami Toyota…She’s one of the greatest female wrestlers of our time. I think she’d bring a worldy skill to the team and we could get a different flavor of ice cream.”
Zack Ryder picked four former WWE Divas for his team: Sable, Sunny, Trish Stratus and Stacy Keibler…
“My dream would be Trish Stratus, Sunny, Sable and Stacy Keibler.”
