TNA Impact Report: Awesome Kong on a Rampage, The Beautiful People, Tara vs. Alissa Flash & More, Daffney vs. Tara Booked For Next Week’s Impact

This week on Impact was full of hits for the Knockouts, and one huge miss—she keeps on delivering misses over and over.
The first Knockout to be seen on the show was Awesome Kong, in a brief segment where she was destroying a dressing room. This was booked as Kong being “unleashed,” and on a “rampage,” without her “handler” Raisha Saeed.
—The first match on Impact saw Tara defeat Alissa Flash in a hard fought battle. Tara won the match after barely hitting her “Spider’s Web” in a match where she was dominated by Flash. TNA gave the ladies time, and they certainly delivered.
Star Of The Match: Alissa Flash. Melissa Anderson continued to show why she is clearly one of the top female wrestlers in the business right now. Since debuting as “Alissa Flash,” she has wrestled in the best women’s matches on Impact in 2009. Ironically her winning streak doesn’t exactly reflect that.
Not taking anything away from Tara, this has been her best singles performance since being in TNA. This, coming off of a very nice showing in the triple threat match for the knockouts title at Bound For Glory.
Awesome Kong made her way down to the ring after the match, meeting Tara with a big boot. Kong then proceeded to execute her “Implant Buster” on Tara, in which she landed on top of Alissa Flash… “I’m back,” was uttered from Kong’s lips, described as the return of the “old” Kong.
—Later in the Night, The Beautiful People (Velvet, Madison and Lacey) defeated Women’s Champion ODB, Hamada, and Christy Hemme. Lacey Von Erich got the pin on Christy Hemme after hitting a choke-slam (or lack of one).
The ladies were given good time here, in a fairly good match, for one featuring a few of the weaker Knockouts. The downfall of the match came with Lacey Von Erich, with a failed choke-slam on Christy Hemme. She could not execute her one spot in the match believably, which is a shame. Not even Christy Hemme deserved to do the job for Lacey.
—Kristal Marshall was once again in the front row for the continuation of the Scott Steiner vs. Bobby Lashley feud. Kristal attempted to slap Steiner, however, he blocked it. Scott Steiner sported a t-shirt with Kristal Marshall’s image spray painted on it.
—In knockouts action on TNA’s Preview For Next Thursday’s “iMPACT!” is Daffney taking on former Knockouts champion Tara.
