Since Monday night’s huge WWE Divas draft (Raw Report), not only has fans been buzzing, but so has wrestling news sites…Rumors circulating why Mickie James etc., were drafted to their respective brands has been inescapable. Raw’s guest host, Maria Menounos has also been a subject of discussion.
—Mickie James being drafted to Smackdown from Raw, was the most controversial move in the tri-brand shake-up. She shockingly dropped the WWE Divas title to resident jobber, Jillian Hall, who weeks prior was used in an extremely limited wrestling capacity. According to The Wrestling Observer, Mickie James was upset about her loss and her move to Smackdown.
Other reports have noted rumors that the WWE have been down on Mickie for her “weight gain,” and under-performing in recent weeks.
—Jim Ross had the following to say on his blog about the Diva trade…
I haven’t thoroughly examined the “huge” Diva trade…is that where “huge” or plus sized Divas are traded….never mind. Bottom line is that many fans would like to see the Divas become a more vital part of every TV wrestling show that airs. I would like to see on going issues forwarded on the weekly, wrestling TV shows too as it simply provides the viewer with more TV personas to emotionally invest.
—According to impactwrestling.com, actress Maria Menounos (Serial Buddies, “Access Hollywood”, “One Tree Hill”) searches sky rocketed after her appearance on Raw, landing her at No. 10 on yahoo’s “Popular Searches.”
Numerous reports have been stating that WWE officials were pleased with Maria Menounos’ performance on Raw and are interested in working with her in the future.
