Lacey Von Erich Debuts In TNA, Traci Brooks Playboy Match, And ODB vs. Tara vs. Kong Heats Up
Posted on Thursday, October 1st, 2009 by Arron Carlton
This week on Impact, was another Knockouts filled affair as we have seen in recent weeks. From a special battle of the Playboy models match, to ODB vs. Awesome Kong in a Knockouts title match. The most talked about moment though, was Lacey Von Erich’s debut, joining The Beautiful People—The chatter however may not exactly be in the most positive way.
—Christy Hemme defeated Traci Brooks in a short but enjoyable match, meant to create buzz around Traci’s Playboy shoot. This worked, Christy picked up a believable win over a veteran without discrediting her, and Traci’s Playboy was promoted by the company.
Star(s) Of The Match: Both Christy and Traci. I haven’t been the best commentator on Christy’s in-ring work, however, this was a good showing for her. Her selling was great, and her timing and execution was miles ahead of what we’ve seen from her in recent weeks. Traci on the other hand was amazing with her character, looking extremely vicious in the ring tonight. She was able to take a loss, and regain immediate credible with a post match beat-down.
—Next up was ODB, who successfully defended the Knockouts singles title by pinning Awesome Kong with a roll-up. Another believable win here, due to Tara’s involvement (who was the guest commentator for the match). In the end, Awesome Kong ended up looking the strongest in the 3 women featured in the segment. She left a lasting impression with vicious post-match implant busters to ODB and Tara. The match served its purpose, furthering a 3-Way for Bound For Glory.
Star(s) Of The Match: Awesome Kong. When Kong is on her A-game, it is just a presence than cannot be out-shun. Not even the very over! ODB and Tara took that away from her. Great job by all three women never-the-less.
—Last on the show, was a segment involving The Beautiful People (Velvet & Madison Rayne), and Sarita and Taylor Wilde, who are set to face each other at Bound For Glory. This one was a huge mixed bag, from good to very bad. On the mic, was Velvet, who excels in that department, and shockingly, Madison Rayne got a shot at working the crowd, this was the good part, although the lack of chemistry between Velvet and Madison was noticeable. Inevitably this lead to the four women attacking each other in the ring.
…the bad came with Lacey Von Erich making the save for The Beautiful People, in her TNA debut, becoming Angelina Love’s replacement.
Lacey is a very beautiful girl, but she lacks so much in the ring. I just don’t see how well her flaws can be covered up. Good booking, bad execution. Her backstage segment also fell flat unfortunately.
