TNA IMPACT: Sarita & Taylor Wilde vs. The Beautiful People At No Surrender, Alissa Flash Picks Up Her First Win
Posted on Friday, September 18th, 2009 by Arron Carlton
For the second week in a row, TNA gave us a Knockout filled Impact, with 3 matches involving Knockouts. In the Knockouts Tag Title Tournament, Awesome Kong & Saeed took on Taylor Wilde & Sarita, and The Beautiful People took on Tara & Christy Hemme. “Future Legend,” Alissa Flash was also on Impact, picking up her first win, in a lumberjacks match.
—Kicking of Impact was The Beautiful People defeating Tara & Christy Hemme, to advance in the finals of the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Title Tournament. Velvet Sky picked up the win for her team, with a roll-up on Christy Hemme. Madison Rayne was instrumental in the win, by spraying hair-spray in Christy’s eyes—leaving her susceptible to Velvet’s pin. After the match, Madison sought to reconcile with her former Beautiful People allies. Star Of The Match: N/A. I am not going to call a star of the match for this one. However, still a good match. The weaker links of the match; Velvet Sky and Christy Hemme looked good in the match. TNA kept them limited, with Angelina Love and Tara controlling most of the action.
This was especially sad to watch, knowing that Angelina was released from TNA. A swerve by Madison, screwing Velvet and Angelina of the Tag Titles at No Surrender, seemed like the direction they were going.
—Later on the show, Allissa Flash defeated Cody Deaner, in a lumberjacks match. The lumberjacks came in the form of the entire Knockouts Division, who dismantled Cody Deaner for Alissa. It all began when Alissa threw Cody over the top ropes to ringside, only to get run over by Awesome Kong. That opened up the flood-gates to an onslaught of kicks from numerous knockouts. Roxxi and Sojo Bolt added insult to injury by suplexing Cody on the ramp. To top that off, Traci Brooks and Daffney sent Cody flying into a ring-post. The ladies threw him back into the ring, where he was pinned by Alissa.
Star(s) Of The Match: The Entire Knockouts Division. Like with last week’s Knockouts match involving Cody Deaner, it looked horrible on paper. However, once again, shockingly entertaining. Seeing the Knockouts work together was interesting.
ODB came out to the arena as Cody made his way up the ramp to escape the Knockout lumberjacks. ODB commenced to knock Cody out with her flask—Nice job by ODB and Deaner on making this look good. ODB’s pre-match promo, was precisely how we all feel about the Knockouts title situation. This was really TNA shooting on themselves, for such a horrible booking.
—To close off the Knockouts action, Sarita and Taylor Wilde, defeated Awesome Kong and Raisha Saeed to advance in the Knockouts Tag Title Tournament. Taylor Wilde picked up the win after hitting Raisha with a German-suplex. This match was excellent as expected, with a totally different dynamic to the tag action we have seen from the team of Sarita and Taylor as the ladies were kept grounded by Kong and Saeed for the most part. Was
Star(s) Of The Match:Sarita. Is Sarita’s greatness based on high flying spots?…the answer is no. Tonight, Kong and Raisha kept Sarita on the mat, with Taylor Wilde getting the flashy offensive spots and counters. While Awesome Kong, Taylor, and even Raisha, were on their A-game tonight, and booked great offensively, Sarita played the underdog, which is usually taken for granted. She didn’t get much of a chance to shine offensively, however, she put her opponents over with great bumping and selling.
Another good television match, with a nice interview after the match. Was this foreshadowing to crowning the first ever tag team champions? I certainly hope so.
