Understandably, this match was underwhelming for fans with high expectations from these two. And while it was cringe worthy, seeing so many botches from two seasoned wrestlers, the match wasn’t as bad as the internet community is discussing. Like with last week, the Divas attempted to execute something outside of the norm of what we usually see from them, with some interesting story telling (Is Gail and Mickie equally matched?). For that, Mickie and Gail get points. Some parts of the match were good, and others not-so-good.

The beginning sequence was well done. Even Mickie James‘ not-so fluid cartwheel would have been forgiven if the wrestling that followed was on point. The ladies continued wrestling, and things began to get questionable after the double clothesline (Mickie is a clothesline suppose to connect to the top of the head?). The next awkward moment came soon after as Gail lifted–attempted to lift Mickie to the top ropes, for Mickie’s headscissors takedown. The transition wasn’t exactly flawless. All was well after that, until Gail Kim’s reversal of the Mickie-DT, into her facebreaker—Mickie reversed the facebreaker into a half-Boston crab, that wasn’t executed well…Fast-Forward to the tragic ending that has the internet world buzzing. A failed finisher (Mickie-DT), followed by failed improvising (Mickie’s Roundhouse kick, that missed Gail). Mickie forearmed Gail Kim, for the pin.

Talk about an awkward post match. How to read into this? Who was at fault? Was Gail Kim stunned at some point? Certainly Gail and Mickie were not on their A-game tonight. Gail Kim surprisingly, who has been on fire lately. Mickie James, no-so-much, who has been a shell of herself in recent months.
